At approximately 7:20 this morning, deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Officers of the Fairbury Police Department served a search
warrant on the residence of 1101 J Street, Fairbury, Ne The search warrant was initiated by an ongoing joint investigation with the Sheriff’s Office and Police Department.
The following people were arrested: Douglas W. May Jr. 31 yoa of Fairbury, Ne Possession of Controlled Substance with intent to distribute, Enhanced Classification within 1000 feet of a school, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana less than 1oz. Obstructing a Peace Officer
Kristin Vanwesten 27 yoa of Alexandria, Ne Possession of Controlled Substance with intent to distribute, Enhanced Classification within 1000 feet of a school, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana less than 1oz.
Isabella A. Kenley, 20 yoa of Fairbury, NE Possession of Controlled Substance with intent to distribute, Enhanced Classification within 1000 feet of a school, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana less than 1oz.
As officers arrived to serve the warrant a male subject ran from the rear of the residence. A short foot chase ensued and May was taken into custody. During his brief flight he threw items that were recovered and appeared to be a sizable quantity of suspected Methamphetamines. The two
females were detained without incident. All suspects are being held without bond until they are brought before the court. The investigation is ongoing.
