Goal Achieved—On Thursday, September 6, the Cattlemen’s Ball committee presented the 2018 funds raised to a group at Thayer County Health Services. Their goal coming into the 2018 event was $1.5 million. Event Host Rob Marsh proudly announced to the crowd, that they blew their goal away, raising $1,747,961.89 at this year’s event. Marsh commented that $173,000 will go back to the community to promote health and wellness. Thayer County Health Services received a check for $75,000 from the Cattlemen’s Ball. The remaining funds from the $173,000 will go to 56 area groups and organizations who submitted applications. The Fred and Pamela Buffet Cancer Center will be receiving $1,550,961.89 to aid in cancer research.
