Goal Achieved—On Thursday, September 6, the Cattlemen’s Ball committee presented the 2018 funds raised to a group at Thayer County Health Services. Their goal coming into the 2018 event was $1.5 million. Event Host Rob Marsh proudly announced to the crowd, that they blew their goal away, raising $1,747,961.89 at this year’s event. Marsh commented that $173,000 will go back to the community to promote health and wellness. Thayer County Health Services received a check for $75,000 from the Cattlemen’s Ball. The remaining funds from the $173,000 will go to 56 area groups and organizations who submitted applications. The Fred and Pamela Buffet Cancer Center will be receiving $1,550,961.89 to aid in cancer research. A full list of those receiving monies from the Cattlemen’s Ball will be released soon. “The entire Cattlemen’s Ball 2018 planning committee, hosts and hostesses would like to express our most sincere thanks to everyone who helped make the event the resounding success that it was - we could not have done it without the entire area’s help and support.” - Karla Deepe.
