Jefferson County offices will be open for normal hours on Wednesday, December 5, 2018.  
The Jefferson County Board of Commissioners urges all Jefferson County citizens and employees to join in mourning the passing of 41st President, George H.W. Bush, “and to remember and honor the long and dedicated service to our country exemplified by him,” county commissioner Mark A. Schoenrock said.
The last day of mourning was 2007 to mourn the passing of President Gerald Ford. 
On Wednesday, the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq will be closed, all federal offices will be closed, the U.S. Postal Service will be closed.
George H.W. Bush served as 41st President and had a long history of public service.
Bush was CIA Director prior to being Vice President under President Ronald Reagan.\

There will be no mail delivery on Wednesday as USPS observes a national day of mourning for former President George H.W. Bush. 
Post office retail and services will be closed.
There will be a delay in papers getting out in the mail this week only. FJN will be open on Wednesday for paper sales.
