    The Fairbury Civic Foundation has announced the awarding of the 2017 Sanmann funds to the following area public schools:

    The Tri County Area Blood Drive was held on Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Plymouth Community  Center. The drive brought  in 65  potential  donors to the area.  The American Red Cross was able to collect 66 units. The first time donor was Daegan VanEperen. There were also several who had not given in many years. A huge thank you goes out to all those who take the time to donate blood or  volunteer time.

    Ed Durfee doesn't quite play as active a role at the Fairbury Cloverleaf Softball/Baseball Complex as he used to.
    He's not doing as much hands-on maintenance. He's not working the concession stand. He's not doing as much of the scheduling, which up until this year he did almost all of.

    The  congregation of the Fairbury United Methodist Church celebrated United Methodist Women on June 11. The acting president of the Fairbury chapter of UMW, Darlene Pierce, and several other members conducted the service.

    Gale Pohlmann and Mark Schoenrock, Jefferson County Commissioners, completed a Nebraska Association of County Officials State Workshop May 31-June 2.  Jefferson County Clerk Cynthia Newman completed the equalization training on May 31.
