    Fairbury Juniors Topple Thayer Central
    The Wasserman/Schmidt Trucking Juniors jumped out fast, scoring four runs in each of the first two innings, while holding Thayer Central scoreless through the first three innings to come home with a 11-2 victory.

    Tri County defeated Thayer Central 5-2 Thursday night. Thayer Central scored two runs in the top of the fifth off of one hit and two errors.

    What was to be a four-team tournament turned into a doubleheader for the Fairbury Seniors Post 24 American Legion baseball team on Saturday.
    Originally four teams were to compete over the weekend at the Hebron Wood Bat Tournament, but two squads dropped out on Saturday.
    Fairbury and Bruning-Davenport-Shickley decided to play a twin bill on Saturday afternoon.

    Thirty-three area student athletes have earned the Spring 2017 Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Association (NCPA) Academic All-State Award.
    Since 2006, the NSAA and the NCPA have recognized students during the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons who are nominated by their schools for their individual academic excellence, leadership and significant contributions in their NSAA activity.
