    Thirty-three area student athletes have earned the Spring 2017 Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Association (NCPA) Academic All-State Award.
    Since 2006, the NSAA and the NCPA have recognized students during the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons who are nominated by their schools for their individual academic excellence, leadership and significant contributions in their NSAA activity.

    Combating rainy and cool conditions which felt more like March than May, athletes from six area high schools put forth their best efforts on the track and in the field at the NSAA State Track and Field Championships held this past weekend at Omaha Burke Stadium.

    Mother Nature delivered a beautiful day for track, and both Thayer Central and Meridian track and field teams took advantage in the eight-team Del Wicks Invite held Thursday on the brand new Deshler High School track.

    On the boys side, the Titans were led to their fifth place finish with a score of 64 points, by a pair of first place medalists.

    The Jeffs rode ten top three finishes on their way to 87 points and a team runner-up finish at the Thayer Central Invite.

    Led by a photo-finish first place victory in the 1600 Meter Relay (Jaelle Johnson, Sara Huss, Hannah Knigge and Cora DeBoer), the Lady Jeffs score 65 points, to finish the meet in fourth place.
