Diller-Odell Speech Team competed at Beatrice on Saturday February 2. Kelsay Schlichtman placed second in Persuasive. Ashley Yocum placed third in Serious and sixth in Poetry. Madeline Swanson placed sixth in Informative. Ali Engelman was top Novice in Humorous. 
As a team, Diller-Odell tied for fourth place. Diller-Odell will next be at the Meridian Mustang Invitational on Saturday February 9. 
Meridian Speech Team also competed at the Beatrice Invitational on Saturday. The Meridain OID, which included Lane Barton, Charly Lufkin, Micah Noel and Corin Paul, finished eighth out of fifteen teams competing against class A, B and C schools. 
Meridian will be hosting their Mustang Invitational on Saturday February 9.
Tri County competed on Saturday at Crete with 31 school participating and over 500 competitors. Tiffany Pearson placed fourth overall in the Honors Division in Poetry, placing first, second, third and fourth in her preliminary rounds. Anna Schmidt won first, second and fifth place in Entertainment. The PID Team of Brianna Connelly, Dominic Smith, Claira Janseen, Anna Schmidt and Brandon Beeson placed first and second in their rounds. This was the first meet for Tri County Speech Team.
