Freshman pitcher Jami Mans had her coming out party for the Jeffs on Thursday in Fairbury’s first contest of the Adams Central Triangular. Mans struck out five batters and allowed one hit, two walks in her four-inning complete-game performance. Ellie Ohlde led the team with three RBIs via one hit and Raven DeFrain paced the Jeffs with two hits in a 2-for-3 day at the plate.

Fairbury tallied a season-low four hits in their 3-1 loss over Class B Adams Central. Sadie Carpenter struck out six Jeffs batters and walked none in her complete-game outing. Cora DeBoer, Josi Mans, Claire Shumard, and Tori Likens had one hit apiece for Fairbury.Delaney Miller pitch a complete game for Fairbury and she allowed six hits, five walks, and struck out four batters.
Bishop Neumann 14 Wilber-Clatonia 1
Wilber-Clatonia came out locked in on defense and on the mound, maintaining a 0-0 tie through two innings during Thursday’s home contest against Bishop Neumann.
The defending Class C state champs then broke loose in the third inning and never looked back. They plated three runs in the third and fourth innings to build a 6-1 lead. The finished the contest with two runs in the fifth and six in the sixth frame to force the mercy-rule victory.
Wilber-Clatonia’s two-spot hitter Alexis Tachovsky was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate in the game, which included one double.
