Diller-Odells offense couldn’t keep pace with Johnson-Brock on the football field Friday night. The Griffins fell 14-50.
The Eagles were up 28-8 at the half over Diller-Odell. Both teams scored six points in the third quarter and Johnson-Brock capped the win with a 16-0 fourth quarter.

Southern/Diller-Odell Raiders ran off with the lead late in the game in a 4-2 victory over Haymakers on Tuesday. The game was tied at two with Southern/Diller-Odell Raiders batting in the bottom of the sixth when Taylor Trauernicht doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Karley Lauby was credited with the victory for the Raiders. Lauby allowed six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out ten and walking zero.
Trauernicht went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Southern/Diller-Odell Raiders Varsity in hits.
It was a numbers game for Diller-Odell on Thursday night. In the championship game of the 2020 MUDECAS volleyball tournament A Division, the Griffins faced Bruning-Davenport-Shickley and four was the number. Four out of six years, the Griffins have won the A Division of MUDECAS.
To win the championship, three was the number. It was a grueling three sets, but the Griffins won 25-20, 27-29, 25-20.

The Southern/Diller-Odell Raiders softball team watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 11-0 loss to Crete on Thursday. Crete scored on a double by Lexi Mach, a home run by Cassidy Skillet, and a groundout by Jordyn Coe in the first inning.
The Raiders struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Crete, giving up 11 runs.
Crete fired up the offense in the first inning. Mach drove in one when she doubled.
Against Lewiston, the Trojans lost 23-25, 22-25. Ella Clark led T. C. in kills with five while Morgan Stokebrand chipped in four. Clark had an excellent night serving, picking up six ace serves for T.C., while Cassidy Thavanet had three with Stokebrand and Sam Rainey picking up two each.
Senior Alyssa Brown had the lone block for T.C. on the night.
Mallory Chavez led the Trojans in assists with seven.
Passion for the game of football carried the Diller-Odell Griffins at home on Friday night against Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer (HTRS), 36-18.
Up 16-0 after the first quarter, a few miscues gave HTRS new life, down just four points (16-12) at one point in the second quarter. A spirited speech in the huddle by head coach Chris Schluter halfway through the second quarter gave the Griffins purpose and new vigor.
The Diller-Odell Griffins volleyball team showed resolve in their match-up with area rival Wymore Southern on Sept. 1. The Griffins used poise and some powerful offense from the one-two punch of Addison and Karli Heidemann to win 25-20, 25-8, 25-22.
Sophomore Karli Heidemann racked up 16 kills on the night while senior Addision Heidemann had five kills, as did freshman Lily Swanson. Ava Lovitt, Elecea Saathoff and Madelyn Meyerle each had four kills. The Griffins had 38 kills in the game while Southern had 12.

Southern/Diller-Odell Raiders Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 13-8 loss to Malcolm on Tuesday.
The Southern/Diller-Odell Raiders collected 15 hits and Malcolm had six in the high-scoring affair.
Malcolm got things started in the first inning with a sac fly scored one run for Malcolm.
The Raiders tallied five runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by the Raiders was led by Alyssa Salts, Kendrea Troxel, Mallory Denner, and Taylor Trauernicht, who each had RBIs in the inning.
