When the first half came to an end during the D1-5 District Final on Friday between No. 12 Diller-Odell and No. 5 Maywood-Hayes Center at Adams Central High School, the Griffins were well on their way to punching their tickets to the state basketball tournament.
Diller-Odell held a 15-7 lead due to lopsided second quarter in which the Griffins outscored the Wolverines 13-4.
Diller-Odell’s success in the first half was propelled behind their defense, which allowed no field goal conversions in the first 16 minutes of play.
