The first leg of the project called for a trail to run along the former Rock Island Railroad bridge at the Fairbury dam, west-ward along the flood dike to the Little Blue River Bridge on Highway 136. Another portion of the project starts at the Little Blue River Bridge south of the City Park, running east to the Little Blue River Bridge on Highway 15.
