Schwab, mayor; George Hackbarth, police judge; Howard Boeckner, Gary Haddan, Alvin C. Junker and Lowell Vawser, councilmen.1982A metal sculpture star motif to decorate the FHS grounds had been constructed by students Alan Black, Garry Ginn, Lyle Keilwitz and Kirk Schroeder, Bruce Wacker had designed it.With approval of a contract to participate in Wyoming hydroelectric plant the Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska took its first step in securing power sources from Fairbury.1993Eunice A. Stuart, senior account executive for Waddell and Reed, was a guest at the annual regional convention of the firm at Shangri-La Resort in northeastern Oklahoma during the first week of May. At the awards banquet, Stuart received the Circle of Champions Honor Award for 1992.2002Eighty-four seniors graduated from FHS the end of May. A special moment was shared by school board president Phil Rogge as he received a hug from his son, Mark, who was one of the graduating seniors. Phil Rogge was announcing the names at the time. Sharing the title of valedictorians were Andrew Dux, son of Mike and Susan Dux, Mary Southwick, daughter of Rex and Judy Southwick, Sarah Judd, daughter of Paul and Kathy Judd, and Lesa Tegtmeier, daughter of Bruce and Beth Tegtmeier.Jefferson County does well at the state track and field competition. Fairbury High School had three students place, senior Mark Rogge received gold in shot, junior Brooke Waldron received bronze in 300-meter low hurdles, and Jeri Williams received bronze in discus. Tri-County overall team were state runner-ups in Class C, freshman Wes Cammack received gold in 3200-meter run, relay team of Jenna Haecker and Jill Reimer, Kami Rahe and Jaci Sellenrick also received gold in the 3200-meter relay. Meridian senior Stacey Bachle received two gold medals in Class D 100 meter high and low hurdles.A ribbon cutting was held for the opening of Memories and More Antique Mall in downtown Fairbury. The mall features many antique items from various dealers throughout the area. The mall is still open today, located at 409 D. Street.He is the son of Joe and Corlyn Cerveny of Fairbury.
