The Fairbury Landshark Seniors faced the First National Auburn Seniors on May 30 and it was a standoff game from the start. However, Auburn was able to squeak out a 5-2 win.It was 1-all after one inning and the teams stayed that way until the third inning when Auburn scored two runs, going up 3-1. In the fifth, Fairbury made a comeback, scoring a run, but a two run fifth by Auburn closed the door on a rally. Fairbury had four hits while Auburn had six.Getting hits for the Landsharks was Miles Tatro, Blayne Schelbitzki, Dom Joe and Lucas Livingston. Jamison Runge and Grady Chappell each had one RBI in the contest.Dom Joe had eight strikeouts on the mound for Fairbury.On Sunday, June 1, the Landsharks hosted the Beloit Senior Legion and it was a tight battle throughout. Both squads were scoreless until the eighth inning, where Beloit was able to score one run. Fairbury had five hits, Beloit seven.Landsharks having hits in the game were Schelbitzki, Dakotah Neumiller, Chappell, Joe and Dakota Zimmerman.Neumiller had seven K’s against Beloit in the mound while Goeking had one. The Wymore Diller Odell Senior Legion squad faced an offensive buzzsaw on May 28 against Wilber Legion Post 101 Seniors. A 14 run fourth inning put the game out of reach and Wilber won 20-4.For Wymore/Diller/Odell, Logan Penner and Hunter Pollman each had hits while Troxel had two hits. Pollman picked up an RBI for Wymore/Diller/Odell. On the mound, Wymore/Diller/Odell used five pitchers with Braydin Wendland picking up one strikeout. For Wilber, Chase Tachovsky had a triple. Graysen Vlcan had three hits on the day with three RBI while Chase Tachovsky had three hits with four RBI to lead Wilber. Cash Kesslar, Owen Smith and Izac Fritz each had one hit. Karsen Fisher had two hits as did Allen Roger. Roger picked up three RBI in the game for Wilber.Three pitchers were on the mound for Wilber with Roger picking up six strikeouts.The Hebron Legion Seniors faced Doniphan on June 1 and came away with a thrilling 6-5 win. Doniphan was up 2-0 after one inning and Hebron scored one run in the fourth and one in the fifth to tie the contest. Doniphan went up 3-2 in the sixth and scored two in the seventh, however, Hebron scored four to win the game. Leading Hebron in hitting was Kohen Gausman with three, including a double. Gausman had one RBI. Landyn Tuma had two hits, Aden Morris had one hit and two RBI. Brayden Gausman had two hits, one RBI and Dominic Page one one hit, one RBI while Tregan LeFave had one RBI. On the mound, Tuma and Kohen Gausman each had four strikeouts against Doniphan.
