Baseball Action Just As Hot As Outside Temperatures

On Monday, June 23, Hebron faced Friend and lost 9-12.Hebron held a 1-0 lead after one inning and was down 4-6 after two innings. Down 12-6, Hebron had a 3-0 rally in the seventh but it wasn’t enough.Nick Kendall had two hits, three RBI for Hebron. Landyn Tuma had one hit and two RBI. Dylan Williams had one hit, one RBI. Kendall had a double in the game. Blake Gunn and Dayne Clark each had a stolen base for Hebron.On the mound, Brady Degenhardt had four strikeouts for Hebron.The Fairbury Landsharks faced the Adams Hellcats Seniors on June 25 and picked up a big 8-3 win.After being tied at 1-all in the first inning, Fairbury moved ahead with a run in the second. Adams tied the game at 2-all in the third. A 2-1 fourth inning kept the Landsharks in the lead and then Fairbury put the game away with a 4-0 fifth inning.Jamison Runge had a hot offensive game with two doubles, knocking in one RBI. Also having doubles for Fairbury included Grady Chappell and Blayne Schelbitzki. Runge also had two stolen bases for the Landsharks. Chappell had two hits, Schelbitzki one hit with one RBI, Miles Tatro had two hits, as did Dom Joe.Dakota Zimmerman and Garrett Roelfs each had one RBI.Stolen bases for Fairbury included Zimmerman, Drayton Kracht, Tatro, Joe and Lucas Livingston.Fairbury had a 9-7 advantage on hits over Adams.Dom Joe was a beast on the mound, striking out 10 batters in the game. He had 107 pitches with 66 strikes. On June 28, the Landsharks lost an offensive shootout with Palmyra, 12-17. Palmyra was up 2-0 until Fairbury rattled off seven runs in the third. However, Palmyra had eight runs in the same inning. Fairbury scored two in the fourth and fifth innings and one in the sixth, however, a four run sixth put the game away for Palmyra.Dakotah Neumiller had the hot bat for Fairbury, picking up four hits and one RBI. Lucas Livingston had two hits, two RBI while Dakota Zimmerman had two hits for Fairbury. Dom Joe had one hit, two RBI. Miles Tatro knocked in a double with one RBI. Zimmerman and Livingston each had one stolen base for Fairbury. Neumiller had four strikeouts for the Landsharks.Wilber faced Sutton on the road on June 25 and lost 2-10. Both squads were tied at 1-all in the first inning and Wilber was down 4-2 in the fourth when a 6-0 fifth doomed a ‘W’ for Wilber.Hits for Wilber came from Graysen Vlcan, Aven Smith and Lexand Baker. Aven and Owen Smith each had an RBI.Vlcan had two stolen bases for Wilber.Owen Smith had two strikeouts for Wilber on the mound.Tri County faced a tough offense in the Adams Hellcats on June 28, losing 1-16.Tayden Gronemeyer had one hit, one RBI and Jayton Jones and Drew Siems each had one hit.
