Jeffs Offense Heating UpOn Monday, Aug. 25, the Fairbury Lady Jeffs faced North Bend and lost 0-12.Getting hits for Fairbury included Jordin Gill, Rylee Gill, Aubrie Hynek and Kate Hynek.Pitching-wise, Autumn L’Ecuyer had two strikeouts and Kate Hynek had one K.Finishing out the triangular, Fairbury downed Centennial in a thriller, 9-8.FHS was up 2-1 after one inning and Centennial tied the game at 2 in the second inning. Centennial took a 5-3 lead in the third inning and took a commanding lead, 8-3 in the fourth inning. A 1-0 fifth inning kept Fairbury close but the Lady Jeffs scored five runs in the sixth to take the final lead.Knocking in hits for FHS was Rylee Gill while Abigail Hynek had one hit and one RBI.Logan Wentz had a big game with four hits and two RBI and Autumn L’Ecuyer had three hits and three RBI. Wentz had a homerun and two doubles. Gill and L’Ecuyer each had a double. L’Ecuyer had two stolen bases against Centennial.Aubrie Hynek had one hit, one RBI while Kate Hynek had one hit as did Cambria Myers and Molly Hansmire.Kate Hynek pitched for Fairbury and had three strikeouts.On Aug. 26, FHS hosted Fillmore Central and it was a high energy game with the Jeffs pulling out a 9-8 win, despite a comeback by the Panthers in the seventh inning.FHS had 10 hits while Fillmore Central had 13 hits. FHS was up 2-0 in the second inning and that stayed static until the Panthers scored six runs while FHS had four, tying the game at six-all. In the sixth inning the Lady Jeffs scored three runs to go up 9-6 and in the seventh, Fillmore Central could only score two runs.Aubrie Hynek had one hit, a double, with three RBI. Jordin Gill had two hits, one RBI with two stolen bases. Logan Wentz had a hit and Kate Hynek had two hits while Morgan Hansmire had one hit, two RBI. Iaunna Lucking had one hit, one RBI as did Cambria Myers. Molly Hansmire had one hit and a stolen base.On the mound, Kate Hynek had seven strikeouts while Autumn L’Ecuyer had two K’s for the Lady Jeffs.On Aug. 28, Adams Central was able to slip by the Lady Jeffs, 3-2, despite a late game comeback. Adams went up 2-0 in the first inning and Fairbury had a measure of revenge with a 1-0 inning to cut the lead to 2-1. Adams had a 1-0 fifth inning to go up 3-1. Fairbury had a 1-0 seventh inning but could not get the nod.Autumn L’Ecuyer had a double and stolen base. Kate Hynek and Iaunna Lucking each had one hit and one RBI.Kate Hynek had three strikeouts pitching for Fairbury.Fairbury had a huge win in the next game against Ord, 13-6. FHS went up 4-2 in the first inning and was up 5-2 after two innings. Ord came back with a 4-0 third inning to go up 6-5, however, the Lady Jeffs exploded for an 8-0 fourth inning to put the game out of reach for Ord.Bringing the offense was Autumn L’Ecuyer with two homeruns in the contest with four RBI. Logan Wentz had two doubles with three RBI.Jordin Gill had one hit, a double, and Kate Hynek had one hit and two RBI. Lucking and Rylee Gill each had one hit.Autumn L’Ecuyer had two strikeouts pitching for FHS. W-C Zeroes Falls CityWilber-Clatonia took it to Falls City on Aug. 26 at home with a dominating 8-0 win. W-C was up 3-0 after one inning and 4-0 after two. In the third W-C tacked on another three runs and added one to their total in the fifth inning.Peyton Mischnick hit a homerun for W-C and had four RBI. Kariss Rosenthal had a double included in her two hits. Claire Watson had three stolen bases to go with her one hit.Gabby Vlcan had one hit, one RBI. Mollie Bates had one hit as did Ashlyn Zoubek, Hayven Kropp had two hits and Aubrey Ninneman had one hit, one RBI.Pitching for the Wolverines, Rosenthal had four strikeouts, Korrina Paulsen had three and Gabby Vlcan had two.To complete the triangular, W-C was defeated by Auburn 1-11. Vcan had two hits, Rosenthal one hit, one RBI, Aria Polite one hit. Vlcan had a stolen base and a double in the game.On Aug. 28, the Wolverines faced Highway 6 and won 10-2.Up 5-1 after one inning, the Wolverines went up 9-1 after two innings. W-C tacked one run in the fourth inning. W-C had a 9-3 hits advantage and Highway 6 led in errors 3-1.Sam Novak had two hits, four RBI and Aria Polite had three hits, three RBI. Also getting hits were Gabby Vlcan, Mollie Bates, Kariss Rosenthal and Peyton Mischnick.Karis Rosenthal had five strikeouts on the mound for W-C. SDO Gets Big WinSouthern/Diller-Odell (SDO) had a breakout game on Aug. 28 against Falls City with a 10-2 victory. SDO was up 2-1 after one inning and neither team scored in the second and third innings. SDO went up 7-2 going into the fifth. SDO handled their business with a 3-0 fifth inning to win the game. SDO had 13 hits and Falls City had six hits.Mya Frase led SDO on offense with three hits and three RBI and Scarlett Steensnes had three hits, two RBI. Azlynn Stevens had one hit and two RBI and Hailee Miller had one hit, one RBI. Madisyn Rosebaugh had two hits and Morgan Steensnes had one hit.Rosebaugh had a triple, Scarlett Steensnes had two doubles for SDO. Miller had one double.Reegan Lauby had a great night pitching with eight strikeouts on the mound for SDO.SDO lost to Twin River 4-9 on Aug. 30. Both teams were tied 2-all after one inning and Twi River took a 4-2 lead in the second inning. It was 7-4 in favor of Twin River in the third inning. Twin River tacked on two runs in the fourth inning.Mya Frase had two hits for SDO. Azlynn Stevens, Hailee Miller, Madisyn Rosebaugh and Scarlett Steensnes each had one hit. Miller and Stevens each had a double.Pitching-wise, Reegan Lauby had one K against Twin River.
