New Wymore Medical Clinic Groundbreaking

By Gordon HopkinsThe Beatrice Community Hospital (BCH) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Wymore Medical Clinic building on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. Representatives from BHC, the City of Wymore and members of the community were in attendance. The new building will be located on the east side of U.S. Highway 77, just north of the Subway sandwich shop in Wymore. Among the speakers was Wymore Mayor Collin Meints who said. “There’s been a lot of work to get to this point, and most of all, at the end of the day, it’s going to be a beautiful facility for our small community.”Rick Haraldson, Chief Executive officer of BHC, explained the need for the new building, “Clearly, the way the old building is, it’s just not set up for the way we practice medicine now. Much more of the stuff is telemedicine-based, a lot of connections, a lot of power needs, things related to the electronic health record. We do a lot of things now that we need to have a different space layout for how we manage those types of care.” Haraldson said the new clinic has been in the works for some time, “When I came to Beatrice eight years ago, we started looking at the clinic. We brought another provider down here and couldn’t believe the volume of patients. We started to think about how do we update this building to match the care that comes out of that. The board has made a commitment to that.”The 7,200-square-foot building will have seven exam rooms, a procedure room, a lab draw room and space for behavioral health specialists. In addition, Arbor State Pharmacy will be leasing space in the building, which will have a drive-through, increasing convenience for residents.Construction cost is estimated at $4.88 million. The architect is Altus Architectural Studios of Omaha and the General Contractors are a joint venture between Caspers Construction of Beatrice and Sampson Construction of Lincoln.The new building is expected to be completed in approximately 10 months, summer of 2026.
