Ronald Scott

Ronald Scott, Washington, Kansas died Saturday November 8, 2025 at UNMC in Omaha, Nebraska. He was born April 19, 1947 to Goldie and Clara (Allacher) Scott in Oberlin Kansas. Graduating from Ft. Hays State (Hays, Kansas), he spent his life in education. First teaching and coaching at Morrowville, Kansas. There he met his wife, Christine Harris, and they were married in 1975; celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in July. He went on to teach at Alton/Osborne schools in Kansas and Juniata Elementary in Juniata, Nebraska. In 1984, Ron became Principal at Washington County Elementary School (Washington, KS) and was there for 30 years, retiring in 2014. He could also be seen refereeing basketball and volleyball games during those years in surrounding area schools. He loved working with kids. After retiring Ron went to work for the UNL Event Staff in Lincoln, Nebraska where he took tickets at the Husker Football and Volleyball games. This became his second love, and he never met a stranger. Preceding him in death were his parents, infant son, John, and seven brothers and sisters: Gene Scott, Doris Fringer, Pearl Scott, Ina Marie Goodnight, Dwayne Scott, Betty Lou Scott and Janice Kurth. Survivors include his wife, Christine, children, Jason Scott, Sarah (Curtis) Lockhart, and Gina (Calvin) Brichat; brother, Dennis (Geneva) Scott, sisters, Linda (Dick) Weber and Judy Scott; and fourteen grandchildren.
