A Sip Of Eden Coming Soon

Efforts are being made to bring a little bit of paradise to downtown Fairbury. To be exact, A Sip Of Eden.A Sip Of Eden is the brainchild of a group of locals wanting to bring a coffeehouse to downtown.Bringing a ‘vision for a stronger, more connected community,’ A Sip Of Eden is being proposed to be across from Bonham Theatre in the former Lambert Vet Supply building.On Dec. 13 a tour of the facility was given with what would eventually include areas for drinks, snacks, games, conversation and togetherness. Hope for the Future, a non-profit group formed in March of this year in Fairbury, has the mission of renovating the building to create, ‘a place where people of all ages can gather, unwind, build relationships and receive encouragement mentally, emotionally and spiritually.’Members of a Hope for the Future include: Sharlynn Kroeker, Christian Jurgena, Jennifer Galbraith, Keith Feisel, Karen Dux and Bob Bartels.The group hopes to have hot snacks, cold beverages, desserts and multiple forms of entertainment, from cornhole boards, pool, ping pong tables, board games and more.Hours are expected to be Monday through Saturday, 2 p.m.-10 p.m. The goal is to provide a space for adults and teens with an area dedicated to seventh graders and above to come and hang out.The group hopes to be up and running by 2027.
