The Southern wrestling team finished second at districts with three district champions crowned for the Raiders.Drake Troxel (150-pounds) was first and defeated Alex Meier of Elm Creek (3:09), Jarrett Wells of Anselmo-Merna (4:46), Lincoln Forbes of Plainview (:23) and Corben Hill of Axtel (:38).Claiming the 157-pound district title for the Raiders was Koltan Ideaus. He defeated Cazen Smith of Twin Loup (12-6), Ty Opfer of Hartington-Newcastle (7-5) and Nick Dahl of Axtel (2:57).Wyatt Forney won the 113-pound district title for Southern. He had wins over Guy Wortman of Plainview (5:38), Weston Schirmer of Ravenna (20-9) and Tucker Steffen of Guardian Angel Central Catholic.Four Raiders finished third, including Blaze Barleen. He defeated Ryder Anderson-Ray of Guardian Angel (1:16), Chris Hock of Bertrand (2:42), Hudson Obermiller of Arcadia/Loup City (1:58) and Chris Hock of Bertrand (4:49).Carsen Goes (190-pounds) was third with wins over Miles Kohmetscher of Kenesaw (:55), Coby Huls of Meridian (1:40).Noah Troxel (138-pounds) was third for the Raiders with wins over Dylan Titus of Ainsworth (3:54), Thomas Ord of Lawrence-Nelson (4:46), Wyatt Fauss of Twin Loup (16-11) and Jaiden Trampe of Elm Creek.Silas Sedlacek (126-pounds) was third for Southern. He defeated Cameron Fisher of Ravenna (2:46), Josh Russell Alma (3-0), Tristan Kocian of East Butler (3:55) and Kolten Clay of Ansley-Lichtfield (:41).Three Jeffs are headed to state. Konrad Kuzelka (175-pounds) continued his incredible season with a district crown. He defeated Riley Vieth of Northwest (4:37), Anthony Popple of Holdrege (14-0) and Peter Russel of Aurora (:33).Kuzelka (49-0) is one of 22 wrestlers in the state still undefeated.Garrett Roelfs (215-pounds) had wins for Fairbury over Brant Packer of Northwest (8-0), Chris Ardeano of Schuyler (6:00) and Richard Job III of Seward (1:54).Gavin Gerths (138-pounds) was fourth and had wins over Jackson Ilg of Waverly (5-1) and Emmitt Kremer of Aurora (5:43).The Thayer Central Titans won the district title.Heading to state for Thayer Central will be Aiden Degenhardt at 106-pounds, winning the district title. He won with three pinfalls over Carson Anderson of Boon Central (1:11), Brayden Stec of Valentine (1:00) and Owen Johnson of Laurel-Concorde Coolridge (1:01).Cole Vordersrasse (215-pounds) won his class with wins over Kaddo Schrunk of Pender, Hudson Treffer of Adams Central (3:17) and Luke Nebuda of Bergan Catholic (:38).James Bonar (285-pounds) of the Titans had wins over Wyatt Johnstone of Cedar Bluffs (2:26), Jaxson Perkins of Adams Central (:20) and Easton Fleischman of Tekamah-Herman (:54).Jayleb Guthrie (190-pounds), represented Thayer Central with a third place finish with wins over Hayden Meisenbach of Tekemah-Herman (1:38), Gavin Steffensmeier of Wilber-Clatonia (3:41), Isaac Luksan of Adams Central (1:49) and Westin Witte of Valentine (:52).Jaxson Bowers (113-pounds) finished fourth at 113-pounds. He had wins over Owen Laska of Boone Central (1:00) and Brody Bubbert of Cedar Bluffs (5:18).Owen McLaughlin was fourth for Thayer Central at 144-pounds with wins over Landon Miller of Tekamah-Herman and Lincoln Treffer of Adams Central (1:09).Winning the 138-pound class at districts for Wilber-Clatonia was Logan Zimmerman. He had wins over Logan Stenka of Adams Central (9-2), Lane Fischer of Wakefield (3:46), Caleb Popken of Cedar Bluffs (1:44) and Ayden Schloendorn of Thayer Central (2:28).Grant Eschiti (132-pounds) of W-C finished third with wins over Ramon Villalobos (:56), Porter Vetick of Malcolm (2:23), Lukas Labenz of Minden (:40) and John Huisman of Bergan Catholic (:29).Ty Roesler (165-pounds) was fourth for W-C. He had wins over Sawyer Pruss of Bergan Catholic (1:36) and Merritt Hood of Adams Central (:44).Three Tri County wrestlers will go to state. Cade Spahr (120-pounds) had wins over Asher Hoss of Bishop Neuman (:51), Weston Cole of Lincoln Christian (4:10), Daniel Parson of Louisville (11-0), Carter Fritz of Centennial (9-3).Luis Alarcon (285-pounds) was fourth with wins over Caleb Brown of Raymond Central (5-1), Noah Fricke of Freeman (8-3) and Lincoln Johnson of Palmyra (4:54).Tri County’s Rylan Bergmeier (106-pounds) was fourth. He had wins over Karson Wagner of Wood River (1:47) and Kolton Gabriel of Lincoln Christian (5:25).
