FHS Hosts Invite

Fairbury hosted its own track invite on March 28 with cooler weather but hot performances by Tri County and FHS athletes.
Team scores revealed Seward winning both the male and female divisions. The Tri County boys finished second and FHS boys fourth. For the girls, the FHS ladies were sixth, T.C. seventh.
For the girls, Claire Schnuelle of T.C. was seventh in the 100m dash (:13.35) and Olive Clark 10th (:13.57). Clark was ninth in the 200m dash (:31.22).
In the 400m dash, Schnuelle was third (1:06.05) and Rylan Berenstrauch fifth (1:09.99).
Recently signed to run track for St. Mary’s in the fall, FHS senior Micah Friesen was second in the 800m (2:34.86) while Jordin Gill was fourth for FHS (2:41.46). Berenstrauch of T.C. was fifth (2:45.43) and the top 10 was rounded out by FHS runners Mia Pineda-Deras (ninth, 2:56.43) and Morgan Hansmire (10th, 2:59.96).
Distance runner for T.C., Emma Loxterkamp, was second in the 1600m (6:01.13) with Taryn Hinman of FHS in seventh (6:58.43) and Rylee Woods in eighth (7:13.35). Loxterkamp would finish fifth in the 3200m (12:58.52).
Alecia Bedlan finished ninth in the 100m hurdles (:18.91) with teammate Rylie Kapke in 10th spot (:18.96). Kapke would finish eighth in the 300m hurdles (1:00.45).
Isabella Bennett, Taten Stelling, Bedlan and Kapke made up the third place 4x100m relay team (1:00.96).
The 4x400m relay team for FHS (Friesen, Gill, Hinman, Pineda-Deras) finished fourth (4:53.98).
Placing second in the 4x800m relay for Fairbury was Morgan Hansmire, Gill, Hinman and Friesen (11:07.72).
Hansmire was ninth in the high jump for Fairbury (4’8”) while Kennadee VanWinkle of Tri County was third in the pole vault (9’6”). For FHS Gill was eighth for FHS (6’6”) and Taten Stelling ninth (6’6”) and Pineda-Deras 10th (6’).
Olive Clark of T.C. was eighth in the long jump (14’) while Isabella Bennett of FHS was 10th (13’8”).
Tri County’s Claire Schnuelle placed third in the triple jump (33’8.25”) and Friesen of FHS was sixth (30’ .75”) and Bedlan ninth (28’ 1.25”).
Showing her power and technique, Fairbury thrower Autumn L’Ecuyer won the shot put (40’8”) and was third in the discus (113’). Brooke Morgan of T.C. was fifth in the shot put (108’4”) while teammate Paizley Weber was seventh (103’4”).
For the boys, Keyton Reck of Tri County was third in the 200m dash (:24.6) and teammate Zach Vossler was seventh (:25.2).
Finishing third in the 400m dash was Jerik Mans (:55.11) with teammate Nic Smith close behind (:55.3).
Drew Siems and Henry Kapke of Tri County had fine finishes in the 800m as Siems was second (2:10.43) and Kapke third (2:13.59). Devon Rasmussen of T.C. was fifth (2:15.62) while Gabe Ausk of FHS was 10th (2:57.68).
Siems (4:49.91) and Rasmussen (4:52.38) finished fifth and sixth, respectively in the 1600m run.
Sammy Holsing of Tri County was second in the 3200m run (11:04.69) with Dawson Siems in fifth place for T.C. (11:19.3).
The tag team of Gavin Gerths (:15.32) and Jerik Mans (:15.58) dominated the 110m hurdles with Gerths finishing first, Mans second for the Jeffs. Vossler of T.C. was fourth (:16.4).
Gerths would finish second in the 300m hurdles (:43.85) while Garrett Smidt of T.C. was third (:45.25).
In the 4x100m relay, T.C. was second (:45.11) with team members being Smidt, Vossler, Trevor Pearson, Keyton Reck.
FHS finished sixth (:48.51) with Smith, Mans, Konrad Kuzelka and Brently Wilson comprising the squad.
T.C. 4x400m relay team was third (3:52.85) with Smidt, Luke Katz, Kapke and Trevor Pearson making up the team. FHS finished sixth (4:34.2). Team members were Brently Wilson, Cesar Galvan, Gabe Ausk and Malachi White.
The 4x800m relay team for T.C. was third (9:18.45) with Henry Kapke, Riley Schardt, Dawson Siems and Sammy Holsing the team members. FHS was fourth (11:12.28). Team members were Malachi White, Issiah Firmanik, Westen Graham, Gabe Ausk.
Jason Wehrman of T.C. was fourth in the high jump (5’6”) and Brently Wilson of FHS seventh (5’4”) with Hudson Kirchoff of T.C. in eighth place (5’2”).
Keyton Reck of T.C. was second in the pole vault (10’6”) with Eliseo Monterroso in sixth for FHS (8’6”) and Konrad Kuzelka of FHS was eighth (8’).
FHS had three athletes in the top 10 for the long jump with Jerik Mans winning (21’2”) and Nic Smith fourth (20’3.5”) while Brently Wilson was 10th (18’3”). For T.C. Keyton Reck was second (20’7.5”) with Jason Wehrman sixth (18’11”).
Fairbury senior Nic Smith won the triple jump (42’3.25”) while Trevor Pearson of T.C. was ninth (35’9”) and teammate Trevor Kapke 10th (35’7”).
Christian Suchil of FHS was fourth in the shot put (44’11”) and fourth in the discus (155’). Wesley Snook of FHS was seventh (119’10”) in the discus.
