Titans Host Annual Invite

Thayer Central hosted their annual invite on April 2 and for the girls, Thayer Central dominated with 92 team points. Fairbury was fourth, Southern sixth, Tri County eighth. For the boys, Tri County ran away with the team title (146 points) and Thayer Central was second (107 points) and Fairbury was third.

In the 100m dash, Keyton Reck of T.C. was first (:11.55) while his teammate Caleb Schnuelle was second (:11.81) while Blaze Barleen of Southern was ninth (:12.39) and Brendan Kunc of Thayer was 10th (:12.5).
Blake Gunn of Thayer (:23.4) edged Garrett Smidt of Tri County (:23.44) for first in the 200m while Trevor Pearson of T.C. was third (:24.05) and Jaxon Krupicka was ninth (:25.34) for Thayer.
Gunn would also win the 400m race for Thayer (:52.84) while Peyton Hubl of Thayer was fourth (:53.96) and Garrett Smidt of T.C. fifth (:54.18) and Nic Smith of Fairbury finished sixth (:54.18) while Jerik Mans was seventh (:54.59). Brently Wilson of FHS was 10th (:56.83).

The long-distance duo of Sammy Holsing and Henry Kapke of Tri County once again showed their prowess in the 800m with Holsing winning (2:01.82) and Kapke second (2:05.16) followed by Skyler Fischer of Thayer in third (2:10.03) and Laken Wiedel of Thayer in seventh (2:18.88) and Luke Katz in eighth (2:21.15).
Holsing dominated the 1600m run (4:52.57) winning over Dawson Siems of Tri County (4:57.4) and Justin Alexander of Thayer (5:09.17) in third. Zane Brandt of T.C. was sixth (5:12.37) and Fischer of Thayer was ninth (5:18.05).

Tri County had three of the top four runners in the 3200m as Drew Siems (10:30.12) was first, Justin Alexander of Thayer second (10:38.57), and Devon Rasmussen of T.C. in third (10:40.14) and Justus Wehrman in fourth (11:10.28). Westen Graham of FHS was sixth (12:17.22) and Ethan Rinaker of Thayer ninth (12:23.69).

Jerik Mans and Gavin Gerths of Fairbury were a potent one-two punch in the 110m hurdles. Mans won (:15.52) while Gerths was close behind in second (:15.69). Zach Vossler of T.C. was third (:16.44) and Murphy Sudbeck of Thayer in fourth place (:16.65). Lando Powers of Thayer was ninth (:19.34).
FHS senior Gavin Gerths stepped up his speed in the 300m hurdles, winning (:41.86) over Vossler (:42.52) of T.C. and Sudbeck (:42.75) of Thayer. Powers of Thayer was sixth (:45.02).
The 4x100m relay team for T.C. (Smidt, Vossler, Pearson, Keck) won (:44.81) while Fairbury was fourth (:47.07) with Smith, Konrad Kuzelka, Mans and Brently Wilson as team members for the Jeffs.
The Throwers relay (4×100) had Thayer finish second (:52.37) (Brighton Hergott, Cole Vorderstasse, Garrett Gregory, Maddox VanSkiver). FHS was seventh (:57.69) (Bryson Joe, Christian Suchil, Wesley Snook, Parker Jacobi).
For T.C., Henry Kapke, Trevor Kapke, Reck and Pearson won the 4x400m relay (3:38.64) while Thayer was third (3:45.71) (Hubl, Powers, Laken Wiedel, Fischer).
Drew Siems, Dawson Siems, Brandt and Devon Rasmussen won the 4x800m relay for T.C. (8:46.68) while Thayer was third (9:24.15) (Hubl, Wiedel, Jordan Buster, Fischer).

Showing off his power in his senior year was Cole Vorderstrasse, winning the shot put for Thayer (54’11.75”), over 10 feet more than second place. Brighton Hergott of Thayer was seventh (42’10.75”) and Christian Suchil of FHS was 10th (42’.5”).

Vorderstrasse would flex his muscles once again, winning the discus (163’11”), well above second place (148’10”). Suchil of FHS was fourth (135’) and Hergott of Thayer eighth (123’11”).
Jason Wehrman of T.C. was fifth in the high jump (5’4”) while Brently Wilson of FHS was sixth (5’4”) and T.C.’s Justus Wehrman was ninth (5’), tied with Blaze Barleen of Southern and Landon Powers of Thayer.
Crosbe Williams of Thayer was fifth in the pole vault (9’6”) and Eliseo Monterroso was ninth for FHS (8’6”).
Gunn of Thayer won the long jump (21’9”) and Reck of T.C. was second (20’9”) while Smith of FHS was fourth (20’5.5”) and Mans in sixth (20’2”) for FHS. Trevor Pearson was 10th for T.C. (18’.5”).
Nic Smith won the triple jump (41’10”) over Gunn of Thayer (40’11”). Vossler of T.C. was sixth (38’3”) and Bowers of Thayer was ninth (35’.5”).
Thayer Central senior Piper Havel continued her speedy ways, finishing second in the 100m (:13.13) while Hadlee Maxson of Southern was third (:13.54) and Olive Clark of T.C. sixth (:13.8) and Ryann Pulliam of Thayer eighth (:13.99).

Havel won the 200m (:26.86) while Claire Schnuelle of T.C. was third (:27.78) and Clark of T.C. sixth (:28.54) and Lilyana Watson of Thayer seventh (:28.68).
Micah Friesen of FHS was second in the 400m (1:03.34) and Schnuelle of T.C. third (1:04.2) while Emma Loxtercamp of T.C. was fifth (1:06.85) and her teammate, Rylan Beerenstrauch was eighth (1:07.52). Isabella Escritt of Thayer finished 10th (1:09.25).

Friesen would finish second in the 800m (2:31.81) while Loxtercamp was third (2:34.17) and Jordin Gill of FHS was fourth (2:36.48) while Beerenstrauch was sixth (2:37.04) and Paige Tietjen of Thayer seventh (2:42.93). Morgan Hansmire of FHS was ninth (2:49.86) and Kenzie Scherline of T.C. 10th (2:51.88).
In the 1600m, Taryn Hinman of Fairbury was fourth (6:35.41) and Isabella Hopper of Southern fifth (6:35.41). Madison Haddan (6:46.17) was seventh for FHS and Astrid Bloom (7:01.84) was ninth for Thayer.
Hopper of Southern won the 3200m (13:55.54) and Joah Anderson of Thayer was second (14:03.74). Tori Swartzendruber of Thayer was seventh (15:28.33) and Jocelynn Mumm of Thayer eighth (17:55.44).
Reece Barnard of Southern was third in the 100m hurdles (:17.99) while Leah Havel of Thayer was fourth (:18.24). Rylie Kapke of FHS finished seventh (:18.53) with Nora Peithmann of Thayer (:18.75) in eighth and Quinn Sudbeck of Thayer in ninth (:18.93) while Alecia Bedlan of FHS was 10th (:19.4). Barnard would go on to finish eighth in the 300m hurdles (:53.79) and Rylie Kapke 1oth (:57) for FHS.
Tietjen, Piper Havel, Escritt and Leah Havel of Thayer were second in the 4x100m relay (:52.28). Southern’s 4x100m throwers relay was third (1:06.91) (Gabby Burgess, Brianna Basulto, Annika Glynn, Jaylin Klover).
Morgan Hansmire, Gill, Hinman and Friesen finished second in the 4x800m relay (10:52.29) for FHS.
It was a battle of two throwers that have been to state and have shown they want to go back as Autumn L’Ecuyer of FHS won the shot put (42’7.25”), over Annika Glynn of Southern (31’11.25”). Jaylin Klover of Southern was fifth (31’7.5”) while Norah Morrissey of T.C. was eighth (30’.25”) and Miley Garrison ninth (29’1.75”) for T.C.

It came down to L’Ecuyer and Glynn for the discus. L’Ecuyer won (111’6”) over Glynn (107’3”) while Paizley Weber of T.C. was third (94’7.5”). Brooke Morgan of T.C. was fifth (89’2”).
Hansmire and Bridget Heidemann of FHS were tied for sixth in the high jump (4’4”).
Three jumpers had top spots in the pole vault for Thayer Central. Ryann Pulliam won (9’) while Joah Anderson was second (8’) and Nora Peithmann fourth (7’6”) for the Titans. Jordin Gill, Mia Pineda-Deras and Kennadee VanWinkle of T.C. were tied for seventh (7’).
Piper Havel finished second in the long jump for Thayer (16’1.25”) with sister Leah Havel in fifth (15’5”) and Isabella Bennett of FHS in sixth place (14’8.5”) and Olive Clark of T.C. in seventh (14’7.25”) while Ellasyn Kotinek of Southern was 10th (13’11”).

n the triple jump Claire Schnuelle of T.C. won (24’9.5”) with Lilyana Watson second (32’11”( and Leah Havel third (32’10”) for Thayer. Friesen was fourth for FHS (31’9”) in the event with Braelyn Degenhardt fifth (31’7.75”) and Alecia Bedlan 10th (29’8.75”).
