FPS Staff Member Placed on Leave

Fairbury Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Devin Embray confirmed that a staff member has been placed on leave but did not provide any details or the identity of the staff.

In an email sent yesterday afternoon, April 9, Embray wrote, “We have received questions regarding an employee of the school district. The district can confirm that a staff member has been placed on administrative leave pending an ongoing investigation by the appropriate authorities. At this time, we are cooperating fully with both DHHS and law enforcement. Because this is an active investigation and to protect the confidentiality rights of all individuals involved, we cannot provide additional details. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority.”

Jefferson County Sheriff Nicholas Georegi told FJN, “The Sheriff’s Office is investigating events that were reported and occurred outside of school premises and does not involve any incidents that occurred within Fairbury Public School premises.  Due to this being a fresh investigation and still being investigated at this current time no further details will be provided at this time.”
