A Message from the City

Mowing season is here. The City of Fairbury appreciates all of its residents that keep their yards maintained, helping keep Fairbury beautiful! The City of Fairbury would like to remind all residents regarding blowing grass in the streets, the Municipal Code states as follows:
§ 93.066 SNOW, DEBRIS, AND THE LIKE ON STREET PROHIBITED. It shall be unlawful to place, push, or deposit snow, sleet, ice, or mud, or any debris, including leaves, grass, and branches, from private property onto the streets of the municipality.
If you are found in violation of this code, you could be subject to a citation which could amount to fines up to $500.
Debris in the street can clog storm drains and also be a danger to motorcyclists.
