Pioneer Conference
Boys:
As the last few days of January were finishing up conference basketball was under way with the Pioneer Conference taking place and moved onto the early days of February.
Tri County Trojans stayed consistent throughout the month as they have won eight games in a row, their last loss the first week of January. Since then Tri County broke a 40-year dry spell for the MUDECAS championship. The last two games in the conference have shown that Tri County isn’t looking to be slowing down as they would light up the scoreboard 78-40 against Sterling on Tuesday, January 31 and then were able to do the same on Thursday, February 2 winning 72-40 against Friend as they advanced to take on Johnson-Brock for the Pioneer Championship Saturday, February 4.

Diller-Odell Griffins played some solid basketball to hold onto the 45-43 win on Monday, January 30 against Lourdes Central Catholic, but were unable to get past Johnson-Brock losing in the Pioneer Conference quarter-finals on Tuesday, January 31, 34-58.

Southern Raiders unable to slow down Friend on Tuesday, January 31 losing in the quarter-finals of the Pioneer Conference, 43-57.

Girls:
For Diller-Odell Lady Griffins their defense came out strong in the first round as they were able to hold Tri County to 14 points in one half while D.O. was able to score 27, withheld the offensive resurgence from their opponents in the second half as they held on tightly to the victory 52-42. Diller-Odell would move on to the quarter-finals as they would go against Lewiston.

Southern Lady Raiders start out great but run into offensive troubles losing 21-23 to Pawnee City in the first round of the Pioneer Conference on Monday, January 31.

Tri County Lady Trojans unable to muster enough for comeback losing 42-52 to Diller-Odell in the first round of Pioneer Conference.

SNC Girls:
Fairbury Lady Jeffs second quarter troubles spells defeat in the first round of the SNC Conference losing 27-44 against David City on Monday, January 30.

Thayer Central Lady Titans able to move past David City in the quarter-finals 37-30 on Tuesday, January 31 but despite some great defensive efforts in the first in the third quarter, Thayer Central would lose 40-49 to Superior in the semi-final on Thursday, February 2.

Wilber-Clatonia Lady Wolverines score 17 in the fourth quarter to complete the comeback in the first round of SNC winning 40-34 against Heartland on Monday, January 30, but would run into offensive woes losing 5-56 Tuesday, January 31 in the quarter-finals against Milford.
