Area Basketball Action-Girls

The Fairbury Lady Jeffs ran into offensive troubles the second week of January as they lost 30-62 at home to Diller-Odell on Tuesday, January 7th and would lose 39-68 on the road to Tri County on Thursday, January 9th. Fairbury will look to regroup with a brief break as they'll host Wilber-Clatonia on Thursday, January 16th. The Meridian Lady Mustangs able to grab a win on the road against Lewiston on Tuesday, January 7th with a final score 41-25. Meridian would be back home hosting McCool Junction, but would lose that game 42-51 on Thursday, January 9th. Meridian will close out the week hosting Shelby-Rising City on Saturday, January 11th and will start the MUDECAS tournament on Monday, January 13th facing Southern in the first round at 8:15pm. The Southern Lady Raiders have a mixed week of results as they would lose 28-48 on the road on Tuesday, January 7th to Freeman, but bounced back on the road Thursday, January 9th as they would beat E.M.F with a 57-45 final score. Southern would close out the week on the road facing Wilber-Clatonia on Saturday, January 11th before entering the MUDECAS tournament on Monday, January 13th as they'll be facing Meridian in the first round at 8:15pm. The Wilber-Clatonia Lady Wolverines were unable to slow down Syracuse at home on Tuesday, January 7th as the final score came to 28-47. Wilber-Clatonia would host JCC, no score was reported at time of press release. W-C would look to close out the week hosting Southern on Saturday, January 11th. The Thayer Central Lady Titans will hit the road facing Superior on Friday, January 10th and will be back home hosting Deshler on Saturday, January 11th. The Tri County Trojans had a great week at home going 2-0 with a 56-38 victory against E.M.F on Tuesday, January 7th and then a 68-39 victory against Fairbury on Thursday, January 9th. Tri County looks to take this momentum in the MUDECAS tournament starting on Monday, January 13th as they'll be facing Diller-Odell in the first round at 8:00pm. The Diller-Odell Lady Griffins built momentum in the second week of January with a resounding 50-14 victory on the road against Sterling on Monday, January 6th, another solid 62-30 win on the road Tuesday, January 7th at Fairbury and looks to close out the week hitting the road to face Sacred Heart on Friday, January 10th. D-O will prepare for the MUDECAS tournament starting on Monday, January 13th as they'll be facing Tri County in the first round at 8:00pm.
