Top rusher for Thayer was Brady Degenhardt with 59 yards.Colton Kuhlman had two tackles for a loss on defense for Thayer Central.Griffins Lose To LewistonLewiston’s football team defeated Diller-Odell on Sept. 26, 26-6.Red Cloud Defeats MeridianMeridian’s football squad had a solid showing but came up short against Red Cloud on Sept. 26 and lost 16-46.Meridian sophomore Jayton Jones, at quarterback, was 4-of-6 for 99 yards and two touchdowns. Maddox Haake was 6-of-6 for 51 yards passing for Meridian.Top receiver for Meridian was senior Landon Peterson with 64 yards receiving on two catches with one TD while Jones had 36 yards receiving on four catches. Haake had 35 yards receiving on two catches with one touchdown.Kyan Sones had one catch for 17 yards receiving for Meridian.Top rusher for the Mustangs was Jones with 17 yards rushing.Two fumbles lost, three total, hindered Meridian’s offense in the contest.Leading the defense was Jones with 13 total tackles, 11 solo. Haake had six solo, three assisted tackles for the Mustangs while Sones had four solo, one assisted stop. Jakob McClement had four solo stops for Meridian. Coby Huls, Peterson and Sones each had four solo stops.W-C Loses To AuburnIt was a battle, but Wilber-Clatonia’s football team lost to Auburn on Sept. 26, 15-33.
