Jeffs, Trojans At Sandy CreekFairbury and Tri County attended the Sandy Creek Invite on April 8. For the boys, Tri County was fifth and Fairbury sixth. On the female side, FHS was fifth and Tri County was sixth.Tri County Boys: Devon Rasmussen was second in the 1600 meters (4:59.74) just missing first against Trenton Goertzen of Heartland (4:59.04).Sammy Holsing placed third in the 3200 meters (10:28.26). The 4x800m relay team easily won with a time of 8:28.1, well ahead of Heartland (8:42.82).Cole Spahr was third in the pole vault (10’10”).Trojan senior Cooper Stokebrand was first in the shot put (49’ 3”) and the discus (156’9”).FHS Boys: Jerik Johnson finished third in the 1600 meters (5:03.44) and Gavin Gerths was third in the 110m hurdles (:16.2) and fifth in the 300m hurdles (:43.95).Senior Rene Monterroso was third in the shot put (44’ 6”) and fourth in the discus (136’7”).Winning the pole vault was Dalton Vanlaningham (12’10”) and Nic Smith was third in the triple jump (39’7”). Tri County Girls: Sage Holtmeier won the 1600 meters (5:52.65) and Isabelle Peters was fifth (6:05.77). Holtmeier would edge Emery Vargas of Hastings St. Cecilia for the 3200m first place, scoring a personal record (12:38.19). Peters was third (13:03.63).The Trojan 4x800m relay team was second (10:27.99) just behind Sandy Creek (10:27.28).Winning the pole vault was Kennadee VanWinkle (10’4”).Fairbury Girls: Mica Friesen scored a personal record in the 800 meters (2:28.64), finishing second.Autumn L’Ecuyer continues to be a top thrower for FHS, finishing second in the shot put (40’2”) and the discus (116’2”).Evelyn Timmons was third in the high jump (4’10”) and Bridget Heidemann was fourth (4’8”). Izzy Ohlde was fifth in the pole vault (7’10”). Timmons was fourth in the long jump (15’1.5”).Senior Regan Kapke was third in the triple jump (32’.5”). Titans Strong At Wood RiverThayer Central’s track squads headed to Wood River on April 8 and the boys finished fourth and the girls third.On the boys’ side: Blake Gunn set a personal record in the 100 meters (:11.6) finishing third while Cole Vorderstrasse was fourth (:11.78).Skyler Fischer was third in the 800 meters (2:12.53) while Jaxson Bowers was fourth (2:23.39).Adam Lukert was second in the 1600 meters (5:08.75) and third in the 3200 meters (11:04.46).Tearing through the hurdles, Murphy Sudbeck won for Thayer (:16.88) and was third in the 300m hurdles (:46.28).Vorderstrasse flexed his muscle to win the shot put (48’11.75”) nearly two feet over the second place finisher. Brighton Hergott was fifth in the discus (125’1”).Blake Gunn was second in the triple jump (40’1.75”).For the ladies: Piper Havel was second in the 100 meters (:12.8) and won the 200 meters (:26.29). Leah Havel was third (:27.27) in the 200 meters.Isabella Escritt was second in the 400 meters (1:04.84) while Paige Tietjen was fourth in the 800 meters (2:44.62).The 4x100 relay team (Piper, Leah Havel, Ryann Pulliam, Escritt) won the event (:52.28) while Pulliam was third in the pole vault (8’6”).Piper Havel was third in the long jump (16’10”) and Leah Havel fourth (16’2.5”). Southern Heads South For TrackWymore traveled to Valley Heights in Kansas for track action on April 8. The girls finished seventh, the boys also seventh.For the boys, Cooper Warford was third in the 100 meters (:11.90) and was second in the 200 meters (:23.83) just missing first place (:23.27).Blaze Barrleen was fifth in the 200 meters (:25.76).Kale Ames was eighth in the shot put (35’4.5”) with Carson Goes at ninth (34’7”). Ames was seventh in the discus (99’7”) and Goes rounded out the top 10 (94.7”).Warford placed second in the high jump (6’4”) and seventh in the long jump (18’4.5”).Paxx Adams was seventh in the triple jump (38’4”).For the Lady Raiders, Hadlee Maxson was fourth in the 100 meters (:13.81) and was fourth in the 200 meters (:28.82). Jenna Forney was ninth in the 200 meters (:30.08).Isabella Hopper finished fourth in the 1600 meters for Southern (6:33.88) and was second in the 3200 meters (12:27.18).Om the 100m hurdles, Forney was fifth (:18.06) and Reece Barnard eighth (:18.74).Annika Glynn won the discus for Southern (119’7”).Glynn was eighth in the shot put (29’2.25”) while teammate Jaylin Klover was ninth (28’4”).Forney (14’3.5”) was sixth in the long jump and Maxson (14’2”) was seventh.Jaylin Klover was seventh in the triple jump (31’4.5”).Friday the Raiders were in Milford and the girls finished ninth (15 point).Kale Ames finished 16th for the boys in the shot put (38’10”) and Carson Goes 22nd (35’10.25”). Goes was 15th in the discus (106’5”).Blaze Barleen finished ninth in the long jump (16’6.5”).Hadlee Maxson set a personal record in the 200 meters (:28.12) and Emma Eisenhauer was eighth in the 400 meters (1:08.18). Azlynn Stevens had a time of 3:01) in the 800 meters.Long distance runner Isabella Hopper was fifth in the 3200 meters (14:19.76).Jenna Forney had a time of :17.97 in the 100m hurdles while Reece Barnard was sixth in the 300m hurdles (:53.26).Forney, Eisenhauer, Barnard and Maxon were sixth in the 4x100 relay (:54.46).Glynn once again led the Lady Raiders in the shot put with a fifth place finish (33’4.5”) while Klover was eighth (30’8.5”) and Mya Frase set a personal record (23’7”).Glynn was second in the discus (113’2”). Della Whitman (64’3”) and Briana Basulto (56’1”) were also in the discus for Southern.Maxson was sixth in the long jump (15’2”) setting a personal record and Jenna Forney was 10th (14’4.25”). Klover was seventh in the triple jump (30’11”). Trojans At MilfordTri County traveled the short distance to Milford on Friday, April 11 for the Eagles’ track invite. The Trojan ladies were ninth (15 points) and the boys fourth (56 points).Winning the shot put was Cooper Stokebrand, setting a personal record with a toss of 50’4”). Cheston Stewart had a throw of 35’2” in the same event while Justin Schwisow threw 25’ .75”) and Ben McNiff 22’5”.Stokebrand won the discus (155’5”) by beating Merrick Johnson of Beatrice (148’1”). Stewart threw 80’7” and Schwisow 58’9”.Henry Kapke was eighth in the 400 meters (:54.89) and teammate Drew Siems was 10th (:55.31). The Trojans had a slew of runners in the 800 meters with Kapke finishing second (2:06.22), setting a personal record while Devon Rasmussen (2:12.11) and Trevor Kapke (2:14.89) also set PR’s in the event.Drew Siems was second in the 1600m (4:45.12), setting a PR while Justus Wehrman set a PR with 5:11.98. Zane Brandt also set a PR in the 1600m (5:27.41).Devon Rasmussen finished second in the 3200m (10:36.67) and Ethan Rosenthal was sixth (11:22.53) and Henry Holtmeier had a time of (12:21.87).Trevor Pearson was sixth in the 110m hurdles (:18.66) and the 4x400m relay team of Ethan Jobman, Kapke, Caleb Schnuelle and Pearson were fourth (3:53.09).Holtmeier, Brandt, Wehrman and Rosenthal had a time of 9:32.83 in the 4x800m relay.Ashton Schwisow had a time of 1:07.02 and Isabelle Peters 1:07.79 in the 400 meters for the Lady Trojans.Schwisow was second in the 800 meters (2:35.98) setting a PR while Aubrey Siems also set a PR in the same event (2:48.8). Peters was third in the 1600m (5:54.75) and Jenna Woitalewicz had a time of 6:56.28.Brooke Morgan (24’1.5”), Audree Sullivan (23’6”) and Ainsley Bogg (20’2”) all competed in the shot put for the Lady Trojans. Morgan had a throw of 87’8” in the discus while Sullivan threw 67’11” and Bogg 47’4”. Schwisow was seventh in the pole vault (7’6”).
