Jeffs Host TriangularFairbury hosted a volleyball triangular on Oct. 21 and Wilber-Clatonia faced Milford.The Eagles were able to get a 2-0 win over the Wolverines, 25-20, 25-10.Haleah Schuerman had seven kills for W-C while Hadley Jurgens had two and Brynn Zajicek had three.Zajicek served up two aces against the Eagles while Scuerman had three for W-C.Zajicek and Emrey Hereth each had a block for W-C.Kaylie Fritz and Zajicek handled the majority of the assists with Zajicek gaining six, Fritz five.Against Fairbury, W-C lost in straight sets, 17-25, 16-25.Schuerman had six kills for W-C and Hannah Kohout ended the match with two.Schuerman had one ace serve. Griffins Face JCCOn Oct. 21, the Diller-Odell Griffin volleyball team lost to Johnson County Central in three sets, 11-25, 18-25, 5-25.Aidan McKinney had five kills and Madilyn Dendinger had six for the Griffins.Kailyn Dendinger and Berkelee Beekman each had two ace serves for Diller-Odell.McKinney, Madilyn Dendinger and Brooklyn Barr each had one ace.Carly Meyerle provided the defense for Diller-Odell with two blocks in the game while Beekman and McKinney each had one.Beekman had 13 assists for Diller-Odell. Titans Win In FourThayer Central was tested on Oct. 21 in volleyball against Central City, but the Titans prevailed in four sets, 25-15, 21-25, 25-17, 25-17. Mustangs At TriangularMeridian was involved in a volleyball triangular on Oct. 21 and faced Dorchester, gaining a straight two-set win, 25-21, 25-22.Jetta Stewart provided the offense for the Mustangs with nine kills while Jaycee Schwisow was close behind with eight kills.Stewart and Lani Lutjemeyer each had two ace serves while Olivia Schafer and Kenzie Kumpf each had one assist.Schwisow, Kaylee Tracy and Kumpf each had a block for the Mustangs.Schafer had 14 assists for Meridian.Meridian then lost to High Plains, 18-25, 23-25.Stewart had six kills, one ace. Kaylee Tracy had two ace serves and Schwisow and Lutjemeyer each added one ace serve for Meridian.Kumpf had two blocks with Schwisow adding one on defense for Meridian.Schafer had seven assists.Against Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer, the Mustangs lost in four sets, 23-25, 20-25, 25-22, 24-26. Southern Defeats SterlingPicking up a decisive victory over Sterling on Oct. 21 was the Southern volleyball team, winning 25-19, 25-9, 25-11.Leading the offense was Emma Eisenhauer with eight kills, while Jaylin Klover had six for Southern. Gabriella Burgess and Annika Glynn each had four kills while Calee Belding had three and Caroline Heard and Audriana Renderos each contributed one kill.Southern sophomore Charleigh Belding led the team in ace serves with five while Klover had four, Jazlyn Schell three, Eisenhauer two, Glynn two and Burgess one.Leading the team in blocks was Klover with two and Eisenhauer and Belding each had one.The assists were spread out with Schell picking up eight, Belding seven, Glynn six and two for Calee Belding. Burgess and Carline Heard each had one assist.
