Boys:The Fairbury Jeffs are hitting the strides as they were runners-up at the Auburn Invite on Saturday, Dec. 16, just two points shy of first, scoring 156 points.Three golds, two silvers and two bronze medals came back from the invitational.The three Jeffs that brought home gold was Riley Arner (165-pounds), Konrad Kuzelka (175-pounds) and Cody Berkenmeier (190-pounds). Berkenmeier was able to go 3-0, each win by pinfall taking the gold. Kuzelka went 3-0 with each victory coming by pinfall as well, and Arner went 3-0 with one pinfall victory and two decisions in taking home gold.Noah Hyson in the 215-pound division went 2-1 with his two wins by pinfall taking home silver, and Dalton VanLaningham took silver in the 132-pound division going 2-1 with each victory coming via pinfall.Layne Fees in the 285-pound division was able to snag the bronze as he went 3-1 with each victory coming by pinfall. Gavin Gerths in the 120-pound division was able to place third going 4-1, with three pinfall victories and one decision. Sinn, Vorderstrasse Lead TitansThe Thayer Central Titans placed among the top five at the Auburn Invite on Saturday, Dec. 16 as the team scores 134 points good for fourth place.The duo of Colter Sinn in the 113-pound division and Cole Vorderstrasse in 215-pound division each took gold. Sinn would go 3-0, and Vorderstrasse 3-0 as well as each won their matches by pinfall.James Bonar in the 285-pound division went 2-1 finishing runner-up, with one victory by pinfall and the other by decision. Dylan Williams in the 175-pound division finished as runner-up going 2-1, each win by pinfall and Mason Remmers in the 150-pound division was runner-up going 2-1, each win by pinfall.Carson McLaughlin in the 144-pound division went on to finish 3-1 grabbing bronze with three pinfall victories, while Nate Burd in the 190-pound division was able to finish with bronze as well going 3-1, each win by pinfall.Also competing for Thayer Central was Anthony Congdon-Meyer. Mustangs Finish In Top FiveThe Meridian Mustangs competed at the Johnson County Central Thunderbird Invite on Saturday, Dec. 16 as the placed in the top five with fourth place as the team scored 115 points.The trio of Carter Haverluck in the 126-pound division, JD Adam in the 175-pound division and Kyan Sones in the 285-pound division each were able to finish with gold.Haverluck would go 4-1 with two pinfall victories, one decision and in the first place match won by ultimate tie breaker scored (6-5).Adam went 4-0, two wins by pinfall and then two decisions. Sones went 5-0 each victory by pinfall.Jackson Huls finished as runner-up in the 150-pound division going 4-1, each win by pinfall.Sam Thomas in the 157-pound division and Coby Huls in the 165-pound division each came away with fourth, and Braiden Durflinger was also competing for the Mustangs on Saturday. Forney Goes 3-1 At Thunderbird InviteThe Southern Raiders were at the Johnson County Central Thunderbird Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 16 placing in the top ten with seventh as a team scoring 88 points.Wyatt Forney in the 106-pound division and Noah Troxel in the 138-pound division each finished as runner-up. Forney would go 3-1, two wins by pinfall and one by major decision.Troxel was able to go 2-2, each win by pinfall.Bladen Weiner in the 285-pound division was able to take home a bronze as he went 3-1, each victory by pin-fall. Kolton Ideus in the 144-pound division was able to place fourth going 2-2, each win by pinfall.Carsen Goes in the 175-pound division went on to finish fifth as he 4-1, by way of two pinfall wins, one forfeit and one decision.Also competing for the Raiders was Kyen Troxel, Ashton Schrieber, Blaze Barleen, Josh Upton and Jacob Ward. W-C Runners-Up At Kearney CatholicThe Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines finished as runner-up at the Kearney Catholic Dual Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 16.W-C would finish 4-1, beating Arlington 51-27 in round one, 60-18 in the second round against Cross County/Osceola, 54-22 against Kearney Catholic in the third round, 45-34 against Burwell, but would lose the final round 33-38 against St. Paul.Trojans Win Dual Against AuburnThe Tri County Trojans able to secure a 45-30 final score in the dual victory against Auburn on Thursday, Dec. 16.
