Beatrice Woman Cited for Shoplifting in Wymore

roximately 10:52 a.m. a report of shoplifting at the Dollar General Store in Wymore was called in to Southeast Communications. According to the Gage County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was dispatched due to no officers from the Wymore Police Department being on duty.The suspects allegedly left the store immediately after taking a six pack of Dr. Pepper and some cleaning supplies without paying. An investigator from the sheriff’s office contacted the Dollar General Store by telephone and obtained a suspect description, what was stolen, and other details.The investigator requested that the Beatrice Police Department be notified while the sheriff’s office was en route to the shoplifting report. According to a press release, “A few minutes later the suspect, 21-year-old Kelsie M. Blythe of Beatrice, was spotted driving northbound on 6th Street on the south end of town. The Beatrice police officer stopped Blythe and contacted the Gage County Sheriff’s Office to inform them of the stop.”The investigator responded to the scene of the traffic stop, identified Blythe, recovered the stolen items, and issued a criminal citation to Kelsie Blythe for shoplifting and driving under suspension. She signed the citation and was released.The stolen items, sans two bottles of Dr. Pepper from the six pack, were returned to the Dollar General Store.This is not Blythe’s first run in with the law. She currently has a court case pending in Lancaster County, where she is charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class 4 felony punishable by two years in prison and one year of post-release supervision.
