Tri County would go on to lose 43-64 against Wilber-Clatonia on Thursday, December 5 and then on Saturday, December 7 would lose 31-63 against Johnson County Central.Tri County will move on Thursday, December 13 at Southern and be back home to close out the week hosting Sandy Creek on Saturday, December 14.Mustangs Pick Up WinThe Meridian Mustangs go 1-1 in the first week of the 2024-25 basketball season. The Mustangs season started on Thursday, December 5th as they lose at home 26-63 against Nebraska Lutheran, but bounce back to get a win on the road against Dorchester with a final score 43-31 on Friday, December 6. Meridian will look to hit the road on Friday, December 13.Raiders Down PalmyraThe Southern Raiders able to pull off the win at home in the first week of the 2024-25 basketball season against Palmyra as the final score reaches 48-43 on Friday, December 6. Southern will host Tri County on Friday, December 13 and Deshler on Saturday, December 14.Titans Win At HomeThe Thayer Central Titans earn a nice win at home against Hanover on Friday, December 6 with a final score 50-37 to kick off the season. Notable efforts for Thayer Central came by Sam Souerdyke earning a double-double with 26 points, 13 rebounds with one assist, three steals and one block.Also contributing was Blake Dankenbring scoring seven points, Brady Degenhardt scored six points and Lukas Kroll came away with five points.Thayer Central will be gearing to hit the road on Saturday, December 14 at Fairbury.Griffins Have Solid WinThe Diller-Odell Griffins went 1-1 in the first week of the 2024-25 basketball season. D-O ran into offensive troubles on opening night at Pawnee City on Thursday, December 5 with the final being 40-57, but bounced back the next night defeating H.T.R.S on Friday, December 6 with a final score of 45-35.Notable efforts in the win was Cooper Morgan and Bradyin Wendland. Morgan would have a double-double with 16 points scored, 13 rebounds along with three steals and two blocks. Braydin Wendland was able to score an even 10 points with five rebounds, one assist, and two steals.D-O will hit the road on Friday as they’ll take on Sterling.Jeffs Upend HeartlandThe Fairbury Jeffs go 1-1 to kick off the 2024-25 basketball season in their first week of competition.Fairbury would be able to pull off the 39-28 victory at home against Heartland on December 5, but would lose on the road to Fillmore Central on December 7 with a final score reaching 30-47.Fairbury will face Milford on Friday and then back home on Saturday hosting Thayer Central.
