Catching Up

There is an old line from a Jerry Seinfeld joke that goes, “It’s amazing that the amount of news that happens in the world every day always just exactly fits the newspaper.” Of, course the comedian is slyly implying nothing is edited and each week the page count fits the news, not the other way around. A quick lesson in newspapers: we choose the page count each week based on the amount of space we can afford. We may have 50 pages worth of news, but can only afford 16 pages.
