City Sets Late Fees For Utilities

At a meeting on Tuesday, April 19, the Fairbury City Council voted to approve a late fee for delinquent utility bills.Fairbury currently utilizes several policies, both formal and informal, to regulate utility deposits and extensions. Ordinance 3107 puts all of these policies into writing and one central location that serves as a reference for staff and customers. One of the biggest changes is enacting the late fee.The proposed late fee is five percent of the outstanding balance.
