In Jefferson County CourtClayton M. Welch, age 21, was arraigned in Jefferson County Court on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. Welch is charged with resisting arrest and obstructing a peace officer, both class 1 misdemeanors.Skiler A. Henry, age 23, of Fairbury, was originally charged with first offense DUI (driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol), a class W misdemeanor, and procuring alcohol for a minor, a class 1 misdemeanor. In a separate case, Henry was charged with third degree assault. In accordance with a plea agreement, Henry pleaded No Contest to a charge of false reporting, a class 1 misdemeanor. The defendant was ordered by the court to meet with the Probation Office and complete a PSI (Pre-Sentencing Investigation) but failed to do so on four occasions. Judge Linda Bauer sentenced Henry to 21 days in jail.Dale W. Rhoades, age 45, was scheduled to be arraigned in Jefferson County Court on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, for no proof of insurance, a class 3 misdemeanor, but failed to appear. He is charged with driving without proof of insurance, a class 2 misdemeanor. A warrant was issued for his arrest. The warrant was recalled that same day and a new arraignment date was set for August 2.ArrestsRodney Burr, age 44, of Beatrice was arrested on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, for driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI). The Gage County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the intersection of West E Street and South 14th Street (Highway 77) in Wymore for a motor vehicle accident. According to the sheriff’s office, a pickup truck had struck a stop sign, a light pole, and a curb.In Gage County CourtKatherine E. Jueneman, age 36, of Wymore, was sentenced in two separate cases in Gage County Court on July 7, 2023. In one case, she was accused of providing a false ID after a traffic stop. Criminal impersonation is a class 4 felony. In addition, she was charged with two counts of driving under a suspended license, a class 3 misdemeanor, as well as violating a stop sign and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, both infractions. In accordance with a plea agreement, Jueneman pleaded No Contest to a reduced charge of attempt of a class 1 misdemeanor, which is a class 2 misdemeanor, and driving under a suspected license. The remaining charges were dismissed. She was fined $300 for attempt of a class 1 misdemeanor and $100 for driving under a suspected license. Her driver’s license was revoked for one year. In the other case, Jueneman was originally charged with first offense resisting arrest, a class 1 misdemeanor; obstructing a peace officer, also a class 1 misdemeanor; first offense refusing a test, a class W misdemeanor; refusal to submit to a pretest, a class 5 misdemeanor; and driving under a suspended license, a class 3 misdemeanor. In accordance with a plea agreement, Jueneman pled No Contest to resisting arrest and a reduced charge of first offense DUI (Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol). The remaining charges were dismissed. On July 7, Jueneman was sentenced to 60 days in jail, with credit for three days time served; a $500 fine and her license was revoked for six months.Spencer M. Fentress, age 62, of Fairbury, appeared in Gage County Court on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. He is charged with terroristic threats and first-degree false imprisonment, both class 3A felonies, and third-degree domestic assault and child abuse, both class 1 misdemeanors. The arrest occurred in Wymore. Because two of the charges are felonies, the defendant has the right to a preliminary hearing, which is scheduled for July 6, 2023. Fentress remains free on a $7,500 (10 percent) bond at this time.Travis W. Hardin, age 39, of Wymore, appeared in Gage County Court on Monday, June 12, 2023, where he pleaded No Contest in Gage County Court to second-degree false imprisonment and third-degree assault. Both charges are class 1 misdemeanors. He also pleaded guilty to second-degree trespassing and disturbing the peace. Both charges are class 1 misdemeanors. All four charges stem from an incident that took place January 12 of this year. Sentencing is scheduled for August 10, 2023.
