His car was struck by a train when he left it on the trackShayann D. Burden, age 24, was arraigned in Jefferson County Court on a charge of shoplifting a value of less that $500 from the Walmart in Fairbury. This is a class 2 misdemeanor. Leigh K. Bales, age 24, pleaded Guilty to criminal mischief resulting in damage of between $500 and $1,500, a class 2 misdemeanor, and disturbing the peace, a class 3 misdemeanor. He was accused of damaging a vehicle with a shovel. Bales was fined a total of $150. Lylie R. Lofts, age 32, was sentenced to 24 months of probation and ordered to attend treatment recommended by a drug an alcohol evaluation. The defendant was originally charged with possession of a controlled substance, class 4 felony punishable, but in accordance with a plea agreement, pleaded No Contest to a reduced charge of attempt of a class 4 felony, which is a class 1 misdemeanor. David J. Stirm, age 25, of Hollenberg, Kansas, was arraigned in Jefferson County Court on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. He is charged with charged with first degree trespassing, a class 1 misdemeanor, and possession of burglar’s tools, a class 4 felony. Christina D.
