Delvin Finlayson

Delvin Levon Finlayson, 86, of Endicott, passed away at Gardenside LTC in Fairbury. He was born September 27, 1939, in Linn, Kan., to Clifford and Hilda (Schuette) Finlayson. On July 24, 1958, he married Sharon Marie Miller, and together they raised two children, Clifford and Peggy. Delvin was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who found joy in life’s simple blessings. He worked as a meat cutter and clerk, proudly serving his community, and his love of hunting, fishing, camping, and boating shaped much of his life. In retirement, he and Sharon spent nearly twenty years as camp hosts at Lovewell State Park in Kansas, where they made many lasting friendships. He is survived by his wife Sharon; son Clifford; daughter, Peggy (Mitchell) & Lyle Norton; brothers Jim (Maxine) and Don (Colleen) Finlayson; sisters-in-law Karen Arend and Darlene (Mike) Harris; three grandchildren, Chris Mitchell, Jessi (Brent) Zerbe, and Brandon Mitchell; and three great-grandchildren, Kenzie Zerbe, Aiden Mitchell, and Kellen Zerbe. He was preceded in death by his parents and several beloved family members. Per his wishes, no funeral services will be held. Burial will be at Washington City Cemetery in Washington, Kan., with interment at a later date.
