Endicott Woman Charged with Felony Drug Possession

An Endicott woman has been charged with felony drug possession.
Jill A. James, age 47, was arraigned in Jefferson County Court on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. Linda Bauer was the presiding judge.
James is charged with possession of methamphetamine, a class 4 felony punishable by up to two years in prison, nine to 12 months of post-release supervision and a $10,000 fine.
There is no affidavit in the court file.
The defendant asked for court-appointed counsel and local attorney Gregory Kratz was assigned to represent her.
Due to a conflict of interest, County Attorney Joseph Casson is not prosecuting the case. A special prosecutor, John V. Hodge, is representing the state.
Another hearing is scheduled for October 2, 2024.
