Ervin Dale Sokolik,

Ervin Dale Sokolik, 73, of rural Fairbury, Nebraska, passed away April 9, 2026, at his home.
Born December 24, 1952, in Fairbury to Edwin and Sylvia (Svoboda) Sokolik, Ervin was a lifelong farmer.
He graduated from Fairbury High School and spent his life working the land near Fairbury and the Swanton area, raising milo, corn, and soybeans. He was known for his strong work ethic, simple lifestyle, and dedication to caring for his land and livestock.
Ervin was a devoted son, brother, and uncle, remembered for his patience, quick wit, and kind nature. He valued time spent visiting with neighbors and family, often making daily phone calls just to stay connected. He enjoyed local events such as the Western Picnic, Czech Days, Husker Harvest Days, and area farm auctions.
He recently adopted a terrier pup, Shadow, who became his loyal companion. Ervin also cherished family gatherings, especially Christmas Eve—his birthday—when he enjoyed sharing meals, especially pumpkin pie, and giving thoughtful handwritten cards.
Survivors include his brother, Delbert Sokolik; several nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Darrel Sokolik; and sister-in-law, Fran Sokolik.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 14, from 5–7 p.m. at Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 15, at 2 p.m. at Wilber Czech Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary.
