Fairbury Pool Ready For Summer

By Taybor Miller
For the Fairbury Aquatic Center, people come far and wide to spend their summer time there with the family–friendly atmosphere.
Assistant manager Ericka Kroeker gave a preview of the summer saying, “We’re excited to open up the pool again this summer. Much like past years the hours still the same, Monday through Thursday we’re open 1-8 p.m., while on Friday and Saturday we’re open 1-9 p.m.”
Often times with a schedule as open as that, summer sports going on with time to kill in between games there’s no better place to go, and with that thankfully that pool offers many options as Kroeker said, “We have a lot of parents take advantage of our season pass prices, four and under comes to 125$, 5-8 is $200. Not to mention we have pool parties that are hourly up to 25 people with the price of that being $126, anything beyond 25 people the price is $150. Pool parties on Sunday or Thursday’s can go from 8:00 to whatever is paid for and many have enjoyed this deal.”
There will be two free swim days, June 5 and August 7.
“We still see people coming from all over to the pool because it’s a fun place to be in the summer.”
The Fairbury Aquatic Center is offering swimming lessons as well this summer as Kroeker said, “We have public swimming lessons June 19th through June 23rd, then July 10th through July 14th from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. and those can be signed up here at the pool.”
Though at the moment there isn’t a need for more lifeguards, for those interested in the near future for the process of becoming one, talking to the city offices and filling out a form from January until the pool opens for the online course is the steps required to begin that process, according to Kroeker.
