FCF Looking For Funds For Permanent Hut/Trailer

The Fairbury Community Foundation (FCF) will once again be doing the Santa Hut on Sunday, December 5 and Sunday, December 12 at Fairbury High School parking lot from noon until 2 p.m. on both dates.Santa will be available to hear the wish list of boys and girls throughout Fairbury on these dates. Goodie bags will be provided by the Fairbury Community Foundation.The Fairbury Community Foundation is currently seeking donations to buy a permanent Santa Hut to be used every holiday season and for other occasions. Presently, the hut is owned by the Fairbury Chamber of Commerce.FCF board members are looking to purchase a food service trailer to modify to use as a Santa Hut, but also have it available to sell items during festivals and events such as the Fourth of July celebration in Fairbury.The trailer would have a kitchen area, sink, and other amenities.Board members noted that the trailer would be available for rent by community groups and businesses as well throughout the year.“With a trailer such as this, we’d have many options available to us for the holiday season, like having Santa appear at more locations over various dates. The trailer also allows us to participate in other events and have a presence in the community by providing concessions and activities in and around Fairbury,” Cook said.FCF is seeking donations to meet the goal of $20,000 to secure the trailer.For more information, contact FCF members Don Cook at (402) 587-1618 or Timothy Linscott at (402) 729-6141.
