FHS Jeffs Second At SNC

It was a solid day of competition last Tuesday for the SNC meet in Fairbury.The FHS girls had a strong showing throughout the day with the team finishing in the runner-up position.Mikya Lierman was able to place third in the pole vault. Allison Davis finished third in the high jump.The 4×800m relay got the running events off to a great start as Mariel Ramos, Lily Davis, Mikya Lierman, and Alissa York ran a time 11:11.45 to place second. The hurdles had the Jami Mans and Emily Huss place in the top five in both events as in the 300m hurdles Emily Huss was able to place third running :51.44 with Jami Mans right behind her finishing fourth in that event, and in the 110m hurdle race Mans would take 1st place running :16.39, and Huss finished fourth.The distance running was a strong showing for the girls with Alissa York getting second in the 3200m run with a time 13:28.90, Lily Davis was able to place third in the 1600m run with a time 6:16.07, Hannah Robertson placed third in the 400m dash with 1:05.62.The FHS boys finishing eighth as a team. For the boys Alex Buxton was able to place in the top five in both hurdle events as Buxton placed fourth in the 300m hurdles and placed third in the 110m running :16.70. Devon Carel was able to place third in the 800m run, and second in the 400m run clocking in the time :52.62.The Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines have won the SNC title two years running. The girls finished eighth.Seemingly having made an impact in each event from races to field events as the by the efforts of Ashton Pulliam taking first in the pole vault setting a new PR with the height of 13’08”. Mason Combs and Carter Skelba both dynamic in the triple and long jump as the duo took first and second place in both events with Combs taking first in the triple jump with 42-01 ½ and first in the long jump reaching a distance of 20-08 ¼ while Skelba was able to get second in both.Combs would go on to place second in the high jump reaching the height of 6’2”. Tyson Kreshel was able to place third in the discus throwing 136-11. The relays placing in the top three in each race with the 4×100m relay of Tyson Kreshel, Quinn Palmer, Carter Skelba, and Ashton Pulliam placed third, the 4×800m relay with Cash Keslar, Logan Herndon, Gavin Vlcan, and Jonathon Zoubek getting second, and the 4×400m relay of Cash Keslar, Jonathon Zoubek, Ashton Pulliam, and Houston Broz took first place running the time 3:35.28.Houston Broz would go on to place third in the 400m dash, second in the 110m and 300m hurdles as well. Jonathon Zoubek would place second in the 800m run with a time 2:05.53.Wilber-Clatonia’s girls track team had some great efforts with Aspen Oliver taking second in both the shot put throwing 34’1” and discus throwing 116’ even. Jera Schuerman who was able to place third in the 800m run with a time 2:35.15.The Thayer Central Titans track had a good showing at the SNC meet with the girls finishing seventh and the boys getting fifth as a team. The top performances for Thayer Central’s boys track team came by the likes of Grant Wiedel placing third in long jump. Lachlan Pickering placed third in the triple jump.The 4×800m relay made of Colter Sinn, Christian Krupicka, Lachlan Pickering, and Adam Luckert were able to get third running 9:21.23. The girls best efforts came from Kaisha Solomon placing third in the shot put with a throw reaching the distance 33’5 ½”.The 4×800m relay placed third with Sydney Escritt, Allison Richardson, Jadyn Bowman, and Natalie Tietjen getting a time 11:27.57. Madelynn Wells would also place second in the 300m hurdles with a time :50.48.
