Wood River Runs By FairburyThe Fairbury Jeffs were unable to contain the run game of Wood River at home as the final score reached 15-47 on Friday, Sept. 14.Notable efforts for Fairbury came by Jaret Wood as he would help Fairbury score the two times the Jeffs found the end-zone. The big bright spot for Jaret was on the ground with 15 carries on a 10.7 yard carry average going for a total of 161 yards with one rushing touchdown.Wood had completed four-of-seven passes for 35 yards with one interception and one touchdown pass. That pass was caught by Tannor Neumiller with his one reception on the night going for 12 yards, Brodie Prellwitz had one catch for 22 yards and Jacob Nippert had one catch for five yards.Fairbury will be looking to bounce back by hitting the road as they face Milford on Friday, Sept. 20. Trojans Gut Out WinThe Tri County Trojans battled to get back in the win column as they held onto the road victory against Centennial on Friday, Sept. 13 as the final score reached 28-22.Top performances for the Trojans came by the efforts of Pierce Damrow. Damrow on the ground would lead the charge as he would take seven carries for a total of 88 yards as he averaged 12.6 yards per carry and would score one rushing touchdown.Defensively for Tri County the trio of Gavyn Houston, Keyton Reck and Ibrahim Castillo made their impact known. Houston led the team with a total of six tackles, his one tackle for a loss being a sack, Reck had three-and-a-half tackles and Castillo had two solo tackles.Tri County will be back at home as they’ll be hosting Sandy Creek on Friday. Johnson-Brock Defeats SouthernThe Southern Raiders can’t slow down Johnson-Brock at home as they lose with a final score of 6-60 on Friday, Sept. 13.Southern will look for answers as they hit the road facing Exeter-Milligan/Friend on Friday. Titans Lose Close GameThe Thayer Central Titans suffered their first loss on the season as they would lose to Lourdes Central Catholic on Friday, Sept. 13, 36-40.Top efforts for the Titans came by Sam Souerdyke on the offensive side. Souerdyke would carry the ball a staggering 34 times for 234 yards on an average of 6.9 yards per carry as he would score a total of four rushing touchdowns. Laken Wiedel would go onto complete four passes on six attempts for 73 yards, but had one interception.Wiedel on the ground would be able to take 12 carries for 40 yards and scored one rushing touchdown.For the Titans defense, Brady Degenhardt would lead the team with 15 tackles, Souerdyke would have 14 tackles, while the duo of Cole Vorstrasse and Colton Kuhlman would each have 10 tackles. Lukas Kroll would have five tackles to contribute, along with two interceptions and was joined in the takeover party with Souerdyke having one interception as well.Thayer Central hosts Sutton on Friday.
