In Jefferson County CourtJorge Alberto Deras-Velasquez, of Fairbury, has been bound over to Jefferson County District Court. The defendant waived his right to a preliminary hearing. He is charged with third degree sexual assault of a child, age 14 or under, a class 3A felony.Warrants Issued in Jefferson County CourtTyler Fruge, age 30, of Fairbury, was scheduled to appear in Jefferson County Court on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, to address a motion to revoke probation. Fruge was one of two suspects arrested after the execution of a narcotics warrant on Thursday, February 22 of this year. He was originally charged with possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, a class 3 felony; possession of methamphetamine, a class 4 felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, an infraction. In accordance with the plea agreement, Fruge pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of attempted of a class 4 felony, which is a class 1 misdemeanor. The weapon charge was dismissed. On June 3, 2024, Fruge was sentenced to 18 months of probation. On October 11, 2024, the Probation Office notified the court of multiple alleged violations of the terms of probation by the defendant, including 20 missed or refused drug tests out of 26, failing to pay fines and costs and failing to obtain employment or attend school. Presiding judge Linda Bauer issued a warrant for Fruge’s arrest.Gage County District CourtBrandon T. Dunn, age 30, of Fairbury, was sentenced to 36 months of probation in Gage County District Court on November 12, 2024. Rick A. Schreiner was the presiding judge. Dunn was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, one for methamphetamine and the other for methylphenidate hydrochloride, a schedule 2 prescription drug. Both charges are class 4 felonies. On August 17, 2023, deputies with the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to 1st and Jefferson Streets in Blue Springs, near Southern Elementary School. According to the arrest affidavit, the school principal had called to report, “a white male who appeared agitated and pacing back and forth in front of the preschool building.” Upon making contact, the suspect identified himself to law enforcement as Brandon Dunn, although he said he did not have any ID on him. While being interviewed by law enforcement, Dunn reportedly said, “I’ll be honest, I got a syringe.” Liquid in the syringe field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Dunn was arrested at the scene. According to the affidavit, a later search of Dunn’s belongs uncovered a loose pill, identified as methylphenidate hydrochloride.
