Boys:Jeffs At Runza ClassicThe Fairbury Jeffs lost two straight to close out the Runza Holiday Classic Tournament as they lost 40-65 to Central City on Dec. 29 and then on Dec. 30 would lose 27-63 to Wood River.Fairbury will be back home hosting Tri County on Thursday, Jan. 4.Trojans On Hot StreakThe Tri County Trojans made it three-in-a-row as they won 62-41 against Diller-Odell on Dec. 29.Tri County will be hitting the road to start the new year as they go against Fairbury on Thursday.Griffins Led By Warren, MorganThe Diller-Odell Griffins ran into offensive troubles, losing 41-62 to Tri County on Dec. 29. The top performances for the Griffins came from Cooper Morgan and Zach Warren. Morgan would score 13 points, grab six rebounds, have one assist and three steals. Warren scored 12 points, had three rebounds and three assists.D-O will be back home as they host Sacred Heart on Friday.Raiders Get Road WinThe Southern Raiders were able to end the year on a high note with a 49-27 victory on the road against Lourdes Central Catholic on Dec. 29.Southern will be home on Thursday, against Exeter-Milligan/Friend.Wolverines Split GamesGoing 1-1 for the week was the Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines. W-C won 51-30 against Bruning-Davenport/Shickley on Dec. 29 but would lose 43-58 against Cross County on Dec. 30.W-C on Thursday will be against Johnson County Central.Titans Get Solid WinThe Thayer Central Titans were able to win 33-22 against Lourdes Central Catholic on Dec. 28.Thayer Central will be hosting Superior on Friday and then be on the road Saturday, against Deshler.Girls:Jeffs Can’t Get Buckets To FallThe Fairbury Lady Jeffs ran into second half troubles on the offensive end as they lost 26-42 to Central City on Dec. 29.On Dec. 27 the Lady Jeffs lost to Diller-Odell by a tally of 31-46.Fairbury will be hosting Tri County on Thursday with coverage from that game in the Friday digital edition.Trojans Have Buzzer-Beater WinThe Tri County Lady Trojans ended their Holiday tournament on a high note with a win coming at the buzzer from Aubrey Siems as the final score reached 31-29.Meridian EdgedThe Meridian Lady Mustangs lost 29-31 at the buzzer to Tri County on Dec. 29.Meridian will hit the road against McCool Junction on Thursday, with coverage from both games in the Friday digital edition.Wood River Gains Win Over W-CThe Wilber-Clatonia Lady Wolverines lost 30-48 to Wood River on Dec. 30.W-C starts the new year on the road for the week as they'll be at Johnson County Central Thursday with coverage in the Friday digital edition.Titans Get WinThe Thayer Central Lady Titans were able to hold on to the victory 57-52 against Lourdes Central Catholic on Dec. 28.
