House Fire in Wymore

The Wymore Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the scene of a house fire at the 300 block of North 5th Street in Wymore just before 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19. They were joined by fire fighters from Blue Springs and Barneston, as well as Wymore EMS (Emergency Medical Services). City staff was also called to turn off the power to the residence.
According to Wymore Fire Chief Mark Meintz, a total of 25 firefighters were involved in battling the blaze, “We needed it.”
There were no reports of injuries. Two dogs were removed safely from the home. Otherwise, there were no occupants at the time of the fire.
