Jacob Immink

Jacob “Jake” Daniel Immink, 35, of Endicott, Nebraska, a true cowboy with a heart of gold, went home to be with Jesus on January 4, 2025. He was the fourth born child to Jon and Peggy Immink, of Endicott, Nebraska, on June 20, 1989. He grew up with three brothers and one sister. Jacob loved his family, a proud uncle to 2 nieces and 5 nephews. He also deeply loved his girlfriend, Kaycee Haynes, and her son, Hayden. Jax, his faithful dog, was by his side until the end.Though his life was marked by challenges, Jacob was a fighter. After a battle with COVID-19, he underwent a double lung transplant, demonstrating incredible resilience and a will to survive. Despite his health struggles, he continued to inspire with a caring heart and a profound sense of humor that lifted the spirits of everyone around him.Jacob loved Jesus, had a passion for Huskers sports, and loved spending time on the golf course and with friends. Jake was a true rancher, finding joy in the wide-open spaces and hard work of a cowboy’s life.Jacob was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Immink of Hamilton, Michigan, and Harlan and Goldie Doeschot of Firth, Nebraska. He is survived by his faithful dog, Jax, his grandmother, Delores Immink of Holland, Michigan, his parents, Jon and Peggy Immink of Endicott, Nebraska, significant other Kaycee Haynes (son Hayden) of Lincoln, Nebraska, and his siblings: Michael (Renee) Immink of Kansas City, Missouri, Benjamin (Julie) Immink of Mequon, Wisconsin, Esther (Clif) Bond of Adams, Nebraska, and Thaddaeus (Joslyn) Immink of Lincoln, Nebraska. He also leaves behind his nieces (Ellie, Ella) and nephews (Simon, Gunther, Levi, Jack, and August), aunts, uncles, and countless cousins.Jacob’s life was a testament to the power of God-given perseverance and a caring heart. While he will be greatly missed, we know that he is at home, pain-free, with Jesus. He was truly an inspiration to all.Services will be Friday, January 10, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Fairbury. Casual Dress requested. Public Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5 – 8 at Gerdes-Meyer in Fairbury. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.
