Jeffs, Titans Battle In Hebron

The Thayer Central Lady Titans have stayed undefeated as they swept all competition in the second week of September. They would sweep Fairbury 3-0 Sept. 10 and then on the road would sweep 3-0 on Sept. 12 against Heartland.The Jeffs went 1-2 during the second week of September. On Thursday, Sept. 12 at Malcolm for triangular action as they would lose the first game 1-2 against Milford, but were able to refocus and get a 2-1 victory against Elmwood-Murdock. Then on Sept. 14 Fairbury headed to the Malcolm Invite.The Jeffs would end up going 1-2 at the invite being swept 0-2 against Lincoln Lutheran and Standing Bear, but were able to fight for a 2-1 victory against Centennial. Notable efforts from Fairbury over the weekend came by Evelyn Timmons as she would rack a total of 26 digs, five blocks, three aces, and 46 kills. Taryn Hinman was able to come up with one ace, eight digs, and 43 assists.Fairbury will be back home hosting the Fairbury Invite on Saturday, September 21. W-C Playing WellThe W-C Lady Wolverines swept on the road at the Freeman Triangular on Sept. 10 against Freeman and Johnson County Central.With a week break, W-C will look to regroup at the Fairbury Invite on Saturday, September 21.Raiders Face Weeping WaterIt was a good fight, but the Southern Lady Raiders fell 1-3 sets at home against Weeping Water on Sept. 12.The first set would go 24-26 in favor to Weeping Water, Southern would battle back to get a 25-23 win, the third set would flip the score as it would go 23-25 and then in the fourth set Southern would fall 17-25. Southern had the chance right some wrongs and find answers as they competed at the H.T.R.S invite on Sept. 14.Though being swept in the first two games 0-2 against H.T.R.S and then Pawnee City, Southern bounced back with a sweep of their own 2-0 against Lewiston. Griffins Successful In Home StandThe Diller-Odell Lady Griffins pushed their win-streak into four games as they swept Sacred Heart at home 3-0 on Sept. 10 and then hit the road on Sept. 12 as they would sweep Lewiston 3-0.Trojans Have Winning Record At Friend InviteThe Tri County Lady Trojans were able to go 2-1 at the Friend Invite on Sept. 14.Tri County was able to get a sweeping 2-0 victory against Aquinas, fought for a 2-1 victory against Sutton, but fell to Humphrey-Lindsay with a final 1-2 score. Meridian At Sandy CreekThe Meridian lady Mustangs were able to go 2-1 at the Sandy Creek Tournament on Sept. 14.Meridian would be swept in the first game 0-2 against Superior, but would bounce back with two straight sweeping victories of their own 2-0 against Ravenna and Sandy Creek.
