Judith Ann White

Judith Ann White, born on October 31, 1941, in Fairmont, WV, brought warmth, love, and care into the world that would resonate for generations to come. She passed into a heavenly reunion with her husband on August 26, 2024 - 41 years to the day after his passing. A generous soul, Judith's life was a testament to the power of thoughtfulness and love. Her wit was as sharp as her nursing skills, a trait that brought joy and laughter to many. As Mother Teresa once said, "Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier." This quote embodied Judith's life as her heart was an open door, filled with compassion and kindness. Judith's calling in life was to care for others, a mission she carried out with grace and determination throughout her nursing career. She earned her nursing diploma and, over the years, served at the Lutheran Hospital in Beatrice, Beatrice State Development Center, Beatrice Good Samaritan Society, and the Wymore Good Samaritan Society, where she held the position of the director of nursing. Her dedication to her profession was recognized by her peers and patients alike. However, her care extended far beyond her professional life. Her home was a sanctuary for all, with her kitchen being the heart of her home. Known for her spaghetti and meatballs, pepperoni rolls, and cabbage rolls, Judith's culinary skills were a source of comfort and delight for her family and friends. A loving mother and a doting grandmother, Judith cherished her family above all. She was a constant presence at her children's and grandchildren's activities, cheering them on from the sidelines. Judith found pleasure in the simple things - camping by the lake, writing and listening to music, and enjoying her favorite crime shows. She had a zest for life that was infectious and inspiring. Judith was a member of the Blue Springs United Methodist Church, where she was also a beacon of love and faith. She is survived by her children, Ed (Kim) White of Abeline, KS, Tami (Jake) Jones of Diller, Michelle See of Wymore, and Les (Tammi) White, Jr. of Beatrice; grandchildren, Brad, Jade, Brielle, Kody, Bryston, Atreyu, Megan, Cadence, Ross, Liz, Casey, Wesley, Brooke, Brie, Jeff, and Brendan; great grandchildren, Grayson, Haisley, Aniston, Jacob, Lindsey, Lydia, Atlas, Iris, and Zayan; the Beekman family; and a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Criss and Norma (Clarence) Ross; husband, Leslie White, Sr. (Aug. 26, 1983); son, James White; grandchildren, Shay White and Jordan White; and sister, Shirley Norris and Carolyn Pezzella. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Blue Springs United Methodist Church with Connie Carpenter providing words of comfort. Burial will be at the Blue Springs Cemetery. A family prayer service will begin at 10:45 AM in the church basement. The body will lie in state at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore on Friday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM with the family greeting relatives and friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, Judith's memorial will be used to establish a scholarship for nursing students.
