LANDSHARKS: 1 to 1

Fairbury Landsharks go 1-1 in the week after defeating Sutton 9-6 on Tuesday June 14th and the next day losing a tough one 1-2 against Chick-Fil-A on Wednesday June 15th. For Tuesday the Landsharks would rack up 11 hits against Sutton with Brendon Runge, Jacob Martin and Brody Kroll each getting multiple hits in that game. Runge would be able to get two hits, while Martin and Kroll were able to get three hits each respectively. Kroll was also able to lead the team with four RBI, Jayden Schmidt and Auggie Judd each had two RBI and Martin was able to get one RBI. Jayden Schmidt led the Landsharks to victory on the mound after the right-hander had surrendered three runs on two hits over six innings, while striking out nine before Blake Starr would come into relief to throw one inning. The next night the Fairbury Landsharks would go through a pitching dual against Chick-Fil-A losing a tough game 1-2. Brody Kroll was the lone run to cross for Landsharks when he would smack a solo home run in the dead center with plenty of space to spare, and was on the mound taking the loss after lasting six and a third innings allowing two hits and two runs while striking out 12. Fairbury Landsharks Seniors will host Twin River on Saturday at 4:30. Fairbury Landshark Juniors would also go 1-1 thus far in the week’s competition by losing to Sutton 0-15 on Tuesday June 14th, but would bounce the next day on Wednesday June 15th by defeating Chick-Fil-A Juniors by a final score of 14-6. Landon McBride, Grady Chappell, and Jackson Martin each collected one hit while Chappell was able to have three RBI and McBride with two RBI to contribute. James Martin was on the mound and got the win after pitching three innings allowing one hit and two runs while striking out two. Aldo Ramos and Brody Prellwitz entered the game out of the bullpen to close the game out in relief. Fairbury Landshark Juniors will be going against Twin River at 2:00.
