Landsharks Face Off Against Tri County

The Fairbury Landsharks can’t keep pace with Marysville as they fall on June 11 with a final score of 6-14.A total of eight hits compiled for Fairbury as the Landsharks were led by Dakotah Neumiller going a perfect four for four scoring two runs. Jamison Runge was able to have multiple hits as well as he went two for three scoring one run and bringing in three RBI to lead the team. Blake Starr and Jakolbe Atkins were each able to contribute one hit as well. Jacob Nippert took the loss going three innings allowing six hits, 11 runs(nine earned), six walks and three strikeouts. Fairbury looked to bounce back as they hit the road facing Tri County on June 12. Despite a solid late effort in the game, Fairbury would fall to their opponents in a close game as the final score reached 5-8. A great battle as Fairbury managed four hits with Jamison Runge, Blayne Schelbitzki, Brodie Prellwitz and Grady Chappell contributing them. Runge led the team with two RBI and Henry Judd came away with one RBI.Schelbitzki took the loss going five and one-third innings as he surrendered six runs (five earned) on eight hits, striking out five and walking four.Fairbury would be back home hosting Nemaha on June 13 and ran into an offensive wall as they would lose with the final score being 2-17. Fairbury would accumulate three hits with two coming Dakotah Neumiller leading the team as he went two-for-four and Lucas Livingston was able to go one-for-three with the only RBI brought in for the team.Blake Starr would take the loss going five innings with six hits, five runs, five walks and eight strikeouts. Tri County Hosts FairburyThe Tri County Senior legion hosted Fairbury on June 12. Tri County battled to a standstill until late as they would pull away with the victory 8-5. Being able to rack up eight hits as a team with a trio coming away with multiple hits with that being Pierce Damrow, Dusty Kapke and Drew Siems. The duo of Cooper Stokebrand and Tayden Gronemeyer managed one hit and along with Dusty Kapke brought in one RBI from each as Drew Siems was able to lead the team with three RBI.Getting the win on the mound was Cole Spahr as he went the full seven innings with four hits, five runs scored (four earned) with five walks and one strikeout. WDO Wins High Offense GameThe Wymore-Diller-Odell senior legion lit up the scoreboard with a victory as the final score reached 20-15 on June 10 against Friend. A total of 16 RBI brought in by W.D.O and multiple stolen bases.A big majority of the offense came from the duo of Alex Wenzbauer and TJ Vitosh.Vitosh would go one for three at the plate with one sacrifice fly and his one hit a big one as he would hit a grand-slam in the first inning to bring his total of RBI to five. Wenzbauer was able to hit his second home-run on the year as he would go yard in the second inning and would later finish two for three at the plate with two walks and four RBI.Callan McKinney was able to lead the team at the top of the lineup going three-for-four at the plate with two RBI, four runs scored, two walks drawn and one of his three hits was a double. Logan Denner, Braydin Wendland and Zach Warren were each able to contribute one hit. McKinney would lead the team with four stolen bases along with Braydin Wendland having three stolen bases and Warren having one stolen base.On the mound Alex Wenzbauer was able to earn that win as he went five and two-thirds inning with seven hits, three walks, five runs scored and 10 strikeouts. Wilber Legion Gains Big WinThe Wilber legion post 101 hit the road to face Friend on June 12. Wilber would jump out early to a 9-0 lead by end of the top of the third inning as the first three were scored one, two and five. A scoreless inning in the fourth by both teams, and then a nail in the coffin by Wilber as they would hammer home eight runs to bring the final score to 17-1.An offensive flurry with 17 hits and 16 RBI being brought in. A trio consisting of Carter Skleba, Carson Radclif and Owen Smith were able to each go three for four at the plate. Radcliff much like Jack Zimmerman was able to have two doubles while Skleba and Smith would each have one double and finish with three RBI.It just so happened that one of the RBI for Smith came by a solo home-run into center field in the top of the third. Zimmerman would finish two for three at the plate leading the team with four RBI and two walks drawn. Cash Kesslar and Caiden Parham each had two hits with one RBI as well.Getting the win on the mound was Owen Smith as he went three and one-third innings as he gave up one hit and one run (zero earned) and having one walk.
