Lyle Victor Hamm

Lyle Victor Hamm, 72 (February 4, 1952 – October 12, 2024)

Lyle V. Hamm, a beloved husband, father, and brother, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with ALS. Lyle was a soft-spoken and honest man who touched the lives of many through his unwavering faith and dedication to helping others.

Lyle was born and raised in Daykin, Nebraska, graduated from Meridian High School in 1970 and graduated with a bachelors of engineering from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. He also completed an MBA at the University of Nebraska – Omaha. Lyle had a very successful career as an Industrial Engineer and Manager working for Union Pacific Railroad in both Omaha and Houston.

A devoted member of his church, Lyle found purpose in serving his community and sharing kindness wherever he went. He was an avid Nebraska football fan, passionately supporting his team through thick and thin.

Lyle is preceded in death by his parents, Rosalie (Novak) Hamm and Darwin Amos Hamm.

Lyle is survived by his loving wife, Deborah; his daughter Jamie with husband Kerry and son Jameson; and his son, Tyler, with wife Jenn. He also leaves behind four cherished siblings: LaRae, Lorenz, Lymon, and Lance. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A celebration of Lyle’s life will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church located at 8227 Cr205, Plantersville, TX 77363 on Thursday, October 17th from 10:30 to 11:15am. Friends and family are invited to share their memories and honor his legacy of love and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary’s church, reflecting Lyle’s commitment to helping those in need.

There will be a 2nd Celebration of Life held on Saturday, 21st of December, at the American Legion Hall, Daykin Nebraska, 2-5pm.
